I am on a computer most of the day, but its uncomfortable (and unhealthy) for me to sit all day long. I purchased this for my office as a laptop stand so I can stand for a part of the day. Turns out I use this not more than my desk!
I was looking for a standing desk for my laptop and this is basically perfect.
Pros: Easy to put together
( This is the first piece of furniture I have ever put together on my own and it took me maybe an hour, but would have been much quicker
with a a power drill as others have suggested)
ty! The fact that it is on wheels is so convenient! They also lock in place when you are stationary.
Easy to adjust the height as needed.
Shelves are a nice bonus.
Nice looking piece, especially for the price.
Cons: Not all that sturdy when it is raised to its upper height limits.
This can be partly remedied by placing heavy items ( such as books) in the shelves. Still wobbles a good bit even with that, but not so
much that it is bothersome.
Putting it together, while cally very easy, was more labor intensive than it needed to be. This was in large part because the screws
they give you are quite a bit larger than the holes, and trying to screw them into place with the tiny screwdriver they supply is difficult to
to say the least. This is where a power tool would come in handy.
Desk looks sleek and professional. Absolutely perfect for what we needed / an affordable easily portable stand/up desk. Easy to use and keeps me from sitting all day.
A little challenging to assemble with the included screwdriver. Requires full size screwdriver some effort. It was difficult to get them into the wood and make them stay!
I purchased this for my classroom as a podium rather than a laptop stand. It is great for teaching and having your teachers manual opened on top. Now I do not have to carry my books around! It is , so it can even work as a podium for students when giving oral presentations.
I dont work at it as much as I thought I would long term, but its great to have. I like to roll it next to the TV so when the laptop is plugged into the TV, I dont have to sit on the floor to operate it or hold it at a weird angle. Also, its great in the morning to be able to check my e/mail without sitting down. It helps me not lose track of time.
The construction wasnt the most fun thing Ive ever done, but its not that much more challenging than other self/assembly things. I kind of wish the shelf space were a little wider. Its barely wide enough to lay a piece of paper on the lower platform. The top can fit a laptop, but not a laptop plus notepad.
Overall, I feel it is as advertised, and Im glad I got it.
gift for my son with a new internet job from home. He put together without much time or trouble (he is not really a handyman haha). He says it is great and he is cycling between using this with his laptop and his office desktop. He likes its size and ability to move around for various views while working. Price was great too. Was a bit challenging to put together, had to have someone pretty much do it for me because I was not physically strong enough. Works well, easy to move around and keeps me on my feet, just need to get off my ass and use it. My only real complaint is that the surface is so slippery that its pretty difficult to keep anything on it. I am glad my laptop has those rubber stops on the bottom, everything that doesnt have those just slides off with just a little movement. Other than that its great.
