natural wood with a great stain. Very happy with this

Very well made, natural wood with a great stain. Very happy with this, great support although we did opt to put a piece of plywood on the bottom to firm it up. Says you don't need a box spring, but we felt it was 'giving' too much and needed the support of the plywood.

Overall, I am thoroughly happy with this item. I researched for months and compared similar platform beds for a while. Although you can find less expensive platform beds on , this one is superior in quality and worth the extra $100 for a solid, well-crafted, American-made bed. PRO: Shipping was fast- arrived on the 2nd day of a 5 day window Packaging was minimal and nothing was damaged High quality, sold wood Generous sturdy slats with two support beams for the CA King size Beautiful stain finish that lets you appreciate the quality wood grain Extremely simple assembly- no tools needed, not even a screw driver! Assembled in minutes Can be disassembled in minutes for easy moving CON: -The wood slats that rest between the support beams are not perfect fits. If you adjust your mattress or pull the bed from the center of the long side, you may cause a few slats to fall out, which can be easily put back in place. -It would be nice if the legs came with rubber or felt feet to protect hard floors

Excellent bed - just what we wanted!

We bought the full-sized bed and it arrived in 3-4 days in good shape. Everything there. Set up was easy, and it actually looks better in the room than in the pictures. It was a little more than we wanted to spend, but we are glad we did. Plus, it is made in the USA and that counts for a lot. Two tips: 1. We put put on pads that stick to the bottom of the legs. This keeps the wood from scratching the floor and also makes it easier to move it. 2. We bought a great spring mattress at Ikea and were able to bring it home in the car since they are rolled up (yes, they roll up the spring mattresses!). The slats in the eLuxury bed are 5 inches apart so if you do not want a box base, you need to do something about the 5 spaces between the slats. I was originally going to put down some plywood, but then decided to try the Ikea L?NSET slatted bed base. It fit perfectly, and works like a charm and raises the mattress buy a couple of inches. The top of the mattress is 26 inches from the floor. We are exceptionally happy with this set-up and have a great bed and mattress for about $800. All in all, this was a much better experience than we expected! Highly recommended.

    So far so good

Got this bed set up today and it looks great! Works nicely with my memory foam mattress and as others have said, a breeze to assemble with no tools required. I even got a card in the mail thanking me for my purchase a few days before the bed came. Seems like a great company here in the USA! I will update in six months.

    very easy to put together

Pluses: very easy to put together, like 5 minutes, if that. And the wood seems nice and sturdy, except for a few rough edges ( more about that shortly), and I haven't noticed any noise or squeaks from movement. Minuses: some of the slats/planks are not the exact same size. Some fit more snugly than others. Minor detail since I haven't noticed any noises or issues yet. One somewhat disappointing issue though is that the corners are rough. If you're not careful, you can really scratch yourself up if you brush up on one of the corners. I have a couple of scratches and am trying to train myself to make wide turns around this bed. One last modest detail- the slats are somewhat easily visible. The fit can be more snug around the mattress.

Very irritating paint/wood stain smell, eventually subsides. Frame is simple, beautiful, and nice solid wood.

I really love this bed frame. It was super easy to assemble. But I did have a little trouble getting the support beam in, because it was a very tight fit. Instead of pushing it straight down into the slots, I had to push it down in a different section of the bed, and then slide it over and down. The bed seems solid. It does occasionally creak. I'm hoping it holds up when I really put it to the test. I'm thinking about putting some sections of plywood over the slats. My Tuft and Needle mattress recommends 4 inches or less between the slats, and this is just over 5. My one complaint, is that it smelled horrible when I first set it up. I got the black one, and I think it was very freshly stained/painted. The chemical smell was very strong and gave me a headache. I had to leave all the windows open and a fan on, for a week. I can still smell it a little, but it's not irritating now. That was really not fun, and it was cold out at the time. But the smell does eventually fade.

It assembled just as easily as they claim

I've been incredibly impressed with this product. It assembled just as easily as they claim, and has been a strong piece that I hope to have for a long time. Fits incredibly well with memory foam mattresses without the need for a base board or box spring.
