Would give 6 or more stars if possible. There is NO substitute for solid wood. I worried about how the cheaper pine would look, but it looks as nice as a stained maple or oak. Very nice finish. I put this bed together in less than five minutes. No hassle whatsoever. I loved it so much I am even buying another one for my guest room. I am a DIY-er so I am going to make my own headboard. Directions said the headboard won't attach but that doesn't worry me; I can just attach it to the wall. This one even better because it is made in the US. Nicely done!

After searching long and hard for an affordable real wood bed frame in King size that didn't already come with a headboard, I came across this Platform Bed Frame from eLuxury. After reading some great reviews, I decided this was the bed frame for me. The frame came earlier than expected which was great. It came in 2 boxes (one heavier than the other but I was able to carry it up the stairs on my own). Unfortunately it was damaged during transportation and it was late night so I emailed the company and they got back to me right away the next morning. Offered to pick up the damaged frame and ship a new one out immediately, No hassle, No headaches, No pictures required!
The replacement frame came very quickly and in perfect condition. Assembling the bed was very quick and simple (really no tools required!). It took a little effort to make sure the sides were snug in their slats but all in all, it was a super quick set up, and it looks beautiful. I chose the Grey color and I love it. I was worried about my mattress not sitting well on top of the bed with the slat spacing because I have a plush king koil king size mattress that has no type of hard support on its bottom end. The bed is very plush on all sides. However the slats have proven to be very sturdy and effective at holding up the mattress. When my room is finally finished, I will come back and post pictures.
It was a bit heavy in the package - about 70 lbs., but I managed to draq it downstairs and spread it out on the floor for assembly. Took very little time to assemble by myself - about 20 - 30 minutes, including opening the box and organizing the parts, and it was very easy to do so. The wood bed support slabs drop right into place. It holds up great and makes no noise once assembled.
A great buy overall considering how well it's made. I ordered the walnut stained one and it's absolutely beautiful and looks great with the rest of my furniture.
Putting it together took about 10 minutes and they way they set it up for easy assembly is pretty genius. I am always a bit weary of these slide-in brackets because I feel like they give too much side to side flex but it's holding up fine so I can't complain too much. The slats are also very thick, study, and they sit in an ingenious indented area that the maker carved out specially for them.
My only complaints if you can call it that is that it didn't come with any rubber soles for the bottom of the legs which mean the bed has the opportunity to slide a bit (on hardwood floors) if you manage to bump it, especially if you have a light mattress like I do. Not gonna dock a star for this though because it's a $5 dollar fix and it comes down to preference. I might also put another support underneath the middle support bar, not that it needs it, just for an extra back up.
Overall it's extremely sturdy and the craftsmanship on it is something to behold. The kind of stuff you would expect from an american made product.
I would give it five stars considering how much my daughter loves it and how well it fits into a tight space, but one of the slats has already broken. Not a big deal to fix this problem. The frame itself is attractive, easy to assemble and seems quite sturdy.
Update: the slats eventually snapped like toothpicks. The bed itself is sturdy, but today a friend is cutting new slats out of hard wood. The ones that came with the bed were made of compressed layers of wood, and not hard to break. They are a tad short and move around, then eventually snap.
The frame itself is sturdy, made from beautiful wood, nicely stained and very easy to assemble.
I'm giving 3 stars for the design. The corners are very sharp and it took quite a few bruises to remember to automatically avoid them. I feel a bit silly writing this because it is a square from but beware: ouch, ouch and ouch.
You know those great wooden bed frames you see in magazines, on HGTV makeover shows and posted all over Pinterest? This is exactly what I was looking at in person when I got my bed assembled. Its beautiful. As for assembly, 2 friends and I struggled to put together an IKEA bed for 3.5 hours before calling a professional to do it. With this bed, took me less than 20 minutes...all by myself.
Also, I ordered direct from the manufacturer as it came out a bit cheaper.
I bought this as a spare bed. I wanted something I could take easily take apart when not in use. I timed myself starting with cutting open the box and finishing with putting in the last slat. It took 12 minutes and no tools. When disassembled I will store it under our queen bed. It is beautiful and well designed with quality craftsmanship.
