Good construction but there are some traces of what I think is glue residue, but I've been able to scrape those off with my fingernail. I'm using this with an innerspring mattress (no box spring) and had some concerns about doing so because the slats are fairly far apart, but that doesn't seem to be detrimental. I have read that some mattresses manufacturers recommend that the slats be closer together, but as I said, we have not had a problem in that regard. Shipping was on time so no problem with that. I do think it's a little pricey for what it is, but I was able to get the pine to go with my other bedroom furniture so I'm happy about that.
Buy in confidence! Beautifully finished wood, so easy to assemble, great price, and high quality planks. When I say high quality, I mean these suckers are heavy! Which means this bed can withstand.. ahem.. high-spirited nocturnal activities without collapsing or moving.
I love the platform. It's take few minutes to install no tool needed. The post office was reluctant to deliver because my route lady couldn't pick it up and they want me to pick. After a call to the post office manager my package was delivered the next day.

I purchased these as bases for beds for foster children. I am 5'1 and 105 pound single woman. I purchased two of the gray ones and they arrived in only a few days. They were in impeccable packing. The wood is solid and beautiful. I was actually able to lift the package into my house by myself and then carried it in pieces into the bedroom. I had watched the video prior, but it took less than 10 minutes (per base) for me to put them together. I never once had to look at directions. It's just that easy and fool-proof. The bases are so sturdy that I imagine that these will last a lifetime. The fact that they were made in the USA is important to me and I am incredibly impressed with the quality of this product. I would purchase it again in a heartbeat! I've never received a product with a handwritten thank you note before but that was such an amazing personal touch. They've thought of everything and I want to acknowledge that it was noticed!
Amazing, solid bed. Easy to put together. Definitely get a friend to help you carry it. This is real wood!! Solid and sturdy. Great part about it. I received a written note thanking me for my purchase.. that is customer service.. great job. Great product
How to hang the end and side boards on a bed have always presented a problem and is a common failure point in many beds.
The legs of this bed have machined in horizontal ledges for the side boards to rest on. Thus ALL of the load weight rests on a ledge. Not on screws in shear etc. [BTW.. houses are built with this concept everywhere you look]. Thus none of the load weight is felt by the hardware. Zoom in and take a close look. I've never seen this very clever idea on a bed before. More than that, I will not buy a bed built any other way in the future.
Trust me, this is the best offering in a wood bed you're likely to find. FWIW.. I'm an engineer.
Excellent quality frame. Sturdy and very nice looking. A little taller than a regular metal frame so with a box spring the bed is tall but we are happy. The almond color was slightly darker than the pictures showed but matched our natural hardwoods anyway and we are happy. The only reason for 4 stars not 5 is the wings on two metal brackets on the side rails had to be bent outward slightly with a pliers to fit into the brackets on the end boards. Not a big deal and an easy fix - just not quite as easy as prior reviewers said.
