This is a very economical, and rugged bed. Best suited for kids, but it will hold 300 pound adult.
All parts accounted for and fit was perfect.
Suggestions would be for the manufacturer to put a wider (flat) step on the ladders for safety and easier climb.
Be aware you have to be able to move this away from the wall to make the bed properly.
Very well built for a 'you-do-it' product. Feels strong and sturdy for an occaisional trundle use. Very happy with this unit. The wheels roll straight and smooth. I have no experience with any others, but would buy this one again. I feel it rates the high reviews bestowed on it by others!!!
We use this as a bed for our toddler. It is the lowest profile that I have seen. We will get bunk beds at some point for our boys and wanted something that we could potentially use somewhere else in the house at that time. I love that it is low to the ground so it was an easy transition for our little boy. It might be too big to slide under some beds with a regular mattress on top, but one could always put the higher bed on a little block if you needed an extra inch or so to slide the trundle under. Be sure to measure how much room you have under the bed, but also the dimensions of the over all bed. We have an antique canopy bed and I think that this is a little bigger than the footprint of that bed. We put a 7 inch foam mattress on this from Brentwood (purchased on ) and our little guy loves it.
Also, I warned my husband from other reviews that it might take a while to put together and that he should leave extra time to do it. I don't know if it was the challenge or if it really is easy to put together, but he had it finished in 10-15 minutes.
Was not difficult to assemble although instructions did leave a bit to be desired, after a couple false starts it went together easily and works quite well for what it is. Be sure and get the thickest mattresses you can afford though - I think a thinner mattress, you'll be feeling the cross slats.. Might be overcome by cutting a sheet of 1/4 inch plywood to go on top of the slats though if you like a firmer mattress.
We really like this bed. It's sturdy and the desk is solid - another bonus - when my daughter writes on it you can't see the marks! Also fairy lights from Ikea look especially magical because the cords fade inot the black bars. One downer - no entry area to the too bunk. My son has to throw himself over the railing to get on the bed.

Nice and easy to assemble.. Just make sure to get a good thick mattress.
