Great bunkbed, not so great directions.

My husband and I put this bunk bed together. With the help of other reviews of this bunk bed, we got the assembly right the first time. They were right in saying that the bunk bed directions needed clarification. Other than that, the bunk bed is sturdy and perfect for my kids.

    Great for even more Money!

This bunkbed that I have been researching for a couple of months before purchase had to satisfy Five major requirements (1) Cost, (2) Durability, (3) ease of installation, (4) be light and less "bulk" and (5) ease of portability (taking it apart and rebuilding). This is for my daughter's bedroom and with the small size of the space (approx. 12' x 11') I did not want a monstrosity of a bunkbed unit that appears to occupy the entire room. This product is light in appearance and makes a cramped space look spacious. (1) COST, this product is a great bargain compared with the 'faux' wood composite products trying to imitate solid constructed wood furniture. I paid $248 for this piece and would have paid more since other wood bunkbeds ranged from $450 to over $1,000. (2) DURABILITY, this bed can sustain 250 to 300 pounds and with steel construction I do not have to worry about the screws stripping and warping the wood weakening the strucutral integrity of the bed whenthe kids are playing by climbing, swinging and rocking from it. (3) EASE OF INSTALLATION, the instructions was clear and the only minor 'hiccup' was the 80+ stiles secure attachment clips that was not expressed in the instructions. I put the entire bed together alone in 4 hours and the stile attachment clips were easily attached after the fact. Another installation tip, make sure the holes are line up to receive items correctly or you will be unscrewing items often in your haste to complete the bed. (4) LIGHTNESS/WEIGHTLESSNESS, the bed is ideal for smaller roomS because if allows air, wind and sunlight to infiltrate the room making an compact room spacious. (5) EASE OF PORTABILITY, I am confident due to the steel construction that I can take it apart if I had to move it into another room or another home withOUT compromising the structure of the bunkbed. Final tip is be aware of having ceiling fans in the room with kids on the top bunk, especially with low ceilings (9'-10'). This is a great product and we will be making another purchase next year for our boy's room. This is a can't miss! Hope this helps

    Good Enough for me

Just 2 days after ordering this set, it arrived at my home, with all the pieces and some extra screws. It took some time to set up. Mainly due to my fiance's error.(Men). But it's up, very sturdy and I love the fact that there's room from the bottom and top bunk, this bed does not take up alot of room and the best part of all is that you can separate and make it into 2 twin beds.

best bunk bed for the money

I bought this bunk bed a little over a year ago because of the price and reviews. I must admit it was a goog buy strong built to last but a little hard to put together gotta read the directions very close. About 3 hours of labor. Kids love it great price everbody's happy!

    Great once assembled

A good value. Assembly however is time consuming and the design somewhat complex; definitely not your easy-to-put-together IKEA bed. Those plastic pieces that other reviews complain about are murder to put in and I had to trim about 25% of them to get them to fit. That said, I am very pleased with the finished product. Highly recommended for skilled handypersons that can improvise when the need arises. Four stars for the assembly process.

    Plenty of head room

This will be the second of these beds that I've purchased. It's great for kids. No sharp corners, it wasn't too bad to assemble and it's very solid. But the best thing about it (to me) is that I can sit on the bottom bunk and not hit my head (I'm 6'3"); great for sitting down and reading bed-time stories. The second one is a replacement for a wooden bunk-bed I purchased for $600 at Ashley furniture. I'm giving the old bed (which is about a year old) away to a friend of my wife and I'm glad to be rid of it. The kids were constantly hitting their heads, arms and legs on the corners (lots of bruises).

    Good!!!

I love this bed, my daughter loves it too she calls it her princess castle. It is sturdy and of good quality, however to put it together too almost four hours it is self explanatory but has too many pieces, that was hard, also the box was very heavy so heavy so that the delivery man didin't want to leave it on the firts floor. Overall I am satysfied with my purchase and would recomend it.

    Ready for sleeping

I love this bunk bed set. We purchased this style (twin size bed over full size bed) to allow us the most flexibility for one of our guest bedrooms which is on the small side. My grand children can sleep in it when they come to visit, yet a couple could easily sleep in the bottom bunk together if necessary. The bed was a bit labor intensive to put together, however it is well worth your time when you see how sturdy the frame is when fully assembled in the correct manner. This bunk bed set is very sturdy when compared to many of the bunk bed sets we looked at on the market. It took my husband about 2 to 3 hours to have it fully set up. We are both very pleased with the quality of this product.

    Nice product, annoying to assemble

I read the reviews before purchasing this item, and decided to get it anyway. Putting it together was quite annoying, as many others have mentioned. I used an x-acto knife to cut the flanges shorter on the 90-some plastic clips, so they would fit appropriately. It was time consuming but made the installation much more pleasant. The instructions also don't indicate very well which parts are directional when you assemble it. I don't think I've seen any product to date that does though, so read ahead when putting it together, make sure the holes line up where they should. All of that being said, the bunk bed is great for the price. And putting it together is a one-time ordeal so it was certainly worth it.

    black metal bunk bed

Hello. My son and I put this together in a couple hours. Everything went well. Had to redo a couple places because I put the ends on backwards. The tough part is the plastic pieces that hold the bars in for the top bunk. I had to have a glove on in order to push the plastic pieces in.
