My daughter loves her new bed, and we love that it now provides extra sleep space when visitors are with us. Previous reviewers are spot on, it takes a while to put it together, but instructions are very clear. Only issue we had is with shipper (UPS). When we received the bed, it was obvious that the box had torn open, as there was a lot of tape on it. Sure enough, the hardware (screws, washers, bolts) was missing. A quick call to the manufacturer, where I spoke with a sweet customer service lady, resulted in them sending me the missing hardware, free of charge, of course.
Easy to assembly, just read the instructions closely and don't jump ahead thinking you know how it is suppose to be assembled. Takes about 2 hours to do the job correctly and by yourself.
I'm really pleased with this bunk bed! I read all the horror stories posted on here about how difficult it was to put together. To be honest, it was real simple, and the directions are easy to follow! I expected it to be a lot of parts, considering it's a bunk bed! The days when I used to play with Legos came in real handy (insert bolt here, put washer on bolt wow)! Thanks Walker Edison! Excellent product and great value! Couldn't ask for more! Maybe if you can get a Miller Lite babe to come over and build it for me next time it might get six stars!
We have been looking for beds for months. This one is pretty good. It is a little unstable but once it is bolted to the wall it should be just fine. It is a whole lot better than the wood bunk beds we bought locally (They broke in the first week) That is why we went with metal. The construction is nice and thought out. I really like the free super saver shipping option. It fits fine in our house with normal 8 foot ceilings too.
Product came on time and took about 2 hours to assemble. Product pieces were well marked and easy to identify. Coupled with good directions made this an easy assembly. Daughter really likes it!
Item needs two people to put together. It is very comfortable. I bought a foam mattress online for $130 and it is perfect with it (no solid hard base was needed). It does squeak and wobble but once you are laying down, it's not so bad. I think more mounting connections are needed and maybe some WD40. For the price, you get good sleep, it looks nice, and you can fit a desk underneath.
It's sturdy and fits nicely in a small space.
However, assembly is killer. Some of the pieces take some real work to put in place. I did it all by myself, so I guess that made it more tedious. It also shows that one person can put it together by themselves, even if it takes hours. Once it's assembled though, you know you're safe. Besides, hopefully, you'll only be needing to assemble it once, right?
Plan on at least three hours to build this bed. The instructions are fairly clear, but take a moment to make sure the screw holes line up or else you're bound to unscrew components that you previously assembled. There is a part where you have to put together the mattress support for the top bunk. The instructions make it seem painless and simple. I recommend using a hammer to insert these "plastic snaps" and even then it still is an incredibily long process and painful if you start using your hands. With all that being said...the bed is extremely comfortable and sturdy. A 200 lb guy slept in the top bunk and there were no scary moments. Good buy if you have time and a friend to help you build.
I purchased this bed for my five year old daughter and she loves it. I thought she would sleep on top and use the bottom as a futon, but she decided she was afraid to sleep on top and has been using the bottom as a bed, which works great too. It's a good sized double bed and she is very comfortable in it. She tells me when she turns 6 she won't be afraid anymore to sleep on top. My only concern about the bed is that the metal rungs on the ladder are very hard on little feet. I wish they would have made them a bit more comfortable to climb on. Overall it's a great value, not too difficult to assemble, and looks great in the room.
This bed is as good or better than the beds in the local stores for way more money. Our daughter loves it and there is plenty of room under it for a futon, desk, or a cool play area. Definitely make sure you have some help for assembly and be careful of the overhead light or fan when setting it in place.
