First, let me say: The price of this item on , combined with super cheap overnight shipping via Prime, made for an amazing value. We purchased this bunk bed to replace a bulkier metal bunk bed that we already had set up. It filled that purpose nicely.
In a nutshell...
Pros:
* Very sturdy.
* Includes tools required to build it. (I wouldn't recommend using a power drill as I was able to strip a few of the screws using the hand tool)
* Packaged well enough that there were no scuffs on the paint.
* A lot of space between the top and bottom bunk beds.
* About 6" smaller in length and width than our previous bunk bed.
* Converts to two single twin sized beds.
Cons:
* Extremely time consuming to set up. It took us about 3 hours.
* Included instructions aren't explicit about which parts go where in relation to the mattress frames. Luckily, we read the reviews ahead of time and worked it out based on the diagrams in the instructions (THANKS REVIEWERS!). This seems like something that could easily be resolved by putting letter stickers on the frame pieces, like they do on all of the other pieces, and referencing each piece explicitly in the instructions.
* Tons of pieces.
* Over 100 screws to screw in by hand.
* At least 29 pieces to the frame.
* A ton of support struts and additional plastic bits to go along with them.
* The great packaging means TONS of trash. Every piece of metal is in it's own plastic sheath to protect the paint. There is a lot of Styrofoam and cardboard as well.
Nice sturdy bunk bed. I bought it for my daughter to take to college. It came in an 8'x10"x20'(aprox)box ,110lbs. The only drawback was it took me 3 1/2 hrs to assemble and I'm very good a putting things together. That's why I only gave it 4 stars. Dont know about about long term durability yet.
It wasnt hard to understand the instruction. Very clear illustrations and everything was labled. There were just ALOT of pieces to assemble.
It's not an 'open box and snap together' product. If you dont mind spending a couple of hrs putting it together I would highly recommend it.
Bought this bed for my 2 boys ages 8 and 10. It's sturdy and stands up to the climbing and jumping from the boys. This is strictly for kids!! I would not put an adult or any person over 125 pounds in these bunks - The support bars are made of plastic and probably would not hold up anything heaver than that.
The final result of this bed is an A+. But getting there was difficult. The instructions are terrible and there are a million parts. The "UP" side and the "Down" sides are not marked nor are the "Ladder" and "non-ladder" sides. So, we did make some mistakes in the assembly. At the end it was all put together and we realized we put an "H" bar on upside down but it was too late and we weren't about to disassemble the whole thing. Luckily, we have a friend with power tools who showed up to drill a hole so we could anchor the last part of the ladder. So, in the end, an all-day effort with some frustrating mistakes due to poor instructions still resulted in a satisfaction. The bed is sturdy and perfect for a boy's room. I don't know that we'll ever turn them into two twins but the flexibility to do so is what sold me on this particular bed.
My 6 year old loves the top bunk and my 2 year old loves the bottom, they're sturdy and can take my 350lb boyfriend getting on them. Great price, great quality,shipped fast!
Okay this isn't perfect but what do you expect for $200? Sure $700 will get you something easier to get into but this is pretty sturdy and works. The worst part about putting this together was the clips for the rods that go under the mattress. They are WAY too difficult to put in (and annoying). That alone knocks off a star. Otherwise it's decent. The stairs hurt my feet a little but it's fine for kids; a more square/less rounded rung system would be nice for little more cost. It's quite tall and a pretty good buy. The design looks better than it functions but again kids are tolerant and this will hold up to 300lbs which is one of the better design points.
My wife and I bought this set for our young boys. They loved it! It Is easy to set up, you just have to pay attention to detail. We use the beds as two singles and they are extremely sturdy.
The bed is a headache to put together but all tools were provided and after it was finished we really liked the end result.
Also for an FYI... UPS doesn't handle large heavy packages very well and they allowed my item to sit in a warehouse for 3 weeks because the box was damaged and they didn't let me know. Other than that we were perfectly happy with everything.
First, the tube size chosen for this thing would make it bomb-proof. Very heavy duty, I have absolutely no worries of rowdy sleepovers racking the whole thing. You're not going to tear this thing up...unless it's not quite right when it arrives.
Assembly was a bit of a challenge, but I rarely read the instructions and that may have helped.
They appeared to be written in English-as-a-third language. Supplies!
One of the threaded grommets that hold the main pieces together had a sloppy weld that damaged the grommet to the point that I couldn't insert the bolt.
And, of course, it was one of the main connections. I have monitored the situation (ok, I slept in the bottom bunk and didn't break it) and I think it should hold. If it doesn't, I'll most likely have to take the piece and get it welded, or try to mount some type of bracket to it to hold the weight.
Overall, happy but QC could have caught the only issue before it became one.
4 stars overall.

Great Product
This product is great! I just purchased this trudle to place under a bunk bed I already own. It fits perfectly and was so easy to assemble. Love it
Almost great
