It is solid wood, good construction, and very easy to assemble. Anyone can do it by him/herself. I have not painted or stained it yet but do not expect any problems.

This is the best bang for my buck in a long time. We needed something for our breakfast nook before the family arrived for the holidays but couldnt find anything at the furniture stores in town, so I bought this as a replaceable piece until we found what we were looking for. great quality pretty wood. question: for mine, the nails are not fastened, i tried but its always a little loose. How to fasten them?
