I'm an 18 years old college and I weigh about 210 pounds (give or take a few). This bed is very sturdy and holds me, my mattress, and a ton of blankets, pillows, and a giant teddy bear. I'm definitely lose to the weight limit, but I've never had to be afraid of this bed because it's extremely sturdy. Of course every once in a while when you move you feel it shake a bit, but that's completely normal and barely noticeable. The railings are at a good height (and I got a slightly thicker mattress as well).
My one and only complaint is the ladder. This ladder is so unbelievably uncomfortable and painful that I was using a step ladder for a while. Eventually my dad and I came up with a solution (well, he did anyway lol). He built me my own little staircase out of wood which made my bed much easier to get into (and doesn't kill my feet!). If you are using the ladder, keep a pair of shoes by the bed to use for when you climb up and down so you don't hurt your feet!
Rail is high enough to keep my 6 yr old from rolling. He loves his new space in his room & loves the bed. Few pieces were bent but with a flat head & a hammer they were fixed. The box was falling apart when it got here but other then that a great bed. Took 3 hrs with 2 crazy kids plus making dinner to put together.
One of the bottom bracket came a bit bent. We are keeping it anyway as it doesn't seem to hurt the structural integrity. This could have been easier to put together.
As others have said, you will probably want to buy pipe insulation or a pool noodle to cushion your child's feet.
The wobbliness that others have noted isn't bad enough to pose a problem for us. My daughter likes sleeping in this bed.
Assembly required - no kidding. So many parts! Box it was shipped in was kind of jacked up when we got it, but nothing wrong with the bed. Space saver for a tiny bedroom.
Bed has been great for our son. Instructions were fairly easy and clear, but allen wrenches were garbage. The one you use for most of the assembly was almost entirely twisted and no longer an "L"-shape by the time the bed was assembled. But besides that, great buy.
great price, very sturdy, kids love it, instructions aren't great but only made a few mistakes during assembly, took about 2 hours with the kids "helping"
This bed is wonderfully sturdy. Assembly wasn't too difficult. I was glad to find a bunk bed could well support a person with a weight of up to 250 lbs.
Took my ex-husband about 3-4 hours to put together by himself. The kids love it. Top bunk holds my weight 140 plus my children's weights of 50 and 40. Its certainly not a playground to jump around in but is sturdy and has very accurate weight descriptions for the top bunk. Its a little noisy when my daughter turns about on the top but other than that I have no real complaints. There is a bar that goes from the bottom bunk to the floor that is in the center of the bottom bunk that I always smash my foot into. That could go away and then this bed would be perfect!

Decent bed. Came slightly damaged.
