    Exactly as advertised.

The bed does come in pieces and you do have to put everything together, but the tools needed to do that is included in the packaging. The assembly is easy enough that if you can put together a Billy bookshelf from Ikea or know how to bake a cake from a boxed package you should not have any trouble getting this thing together. A couple of pointers: 1. make sure you have enough room to get this thing together. I assembled the bed in the location that I use the bed and it worked fine, but if that space were smaller I would have had to construct the bed somewhere else. 2. Pay attention to how the pieces are shown in the instructions. The bed definitely has an up-side and a down-side (the wheels go on the down side). I can see how someone could easily get some of the pieces together up-side-down if they weren’t careful. Other than that, the bed is strong enough to hold at least 300 lbs and uses a twin size mattress. An adults could sleep on this bed without trouble. I didn’t find the bed uncomfortable, but some people could have trouble getting up considering the bed holds the mattress about 3 inches off the ground. I would definitely buy this bed again.

Great head room when seated on bottom bunk. Sturdy construction overall.

    Kiddo loves it

Went together pretty easily, we followed the directions closely as that was a complaint by other reviewers. The ladder rungs are small and hurt your feet when you climb them. We fixed that by cutting pool noodles to fit. All in all, my daughter loves it and that works for us.

GREAT VALUE FOR THE PRICE, BUT BE PREPARED FOR AN INTENSIVE ASSEMBLY

I was very leery about buying bunk beds on line. But I had very few options after our supposedly reputable family run furniture store here in San Diego, totally left us in a lurch after sitting on our order for a week. I had 4 adult size guests due to arrive and no beds to accommodate them for sleeping. We ordered 2 sets of the beds and 4 of the 6" mattresses. We put 1 set together the evening it arrived and the second set the following morning. Assembly takes two…..unless you have an unlimited amount of books, ladders, or other devices to prop up the "other end" as you work. The directions were ok, BUT THE ADVICE FROM THE CUSTOMERS WAS EVEN BETTER! MANY, MANY THX TO YOU ALL FOR TAKING THE TIME TO WRITE SUCH WELL THOUGHT OUT, DETAILED, INFORMATIVE REVIEWS! IT MADE THE SALE AND WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED DURING THE ASSEMBLY PROCESS! We had no problem with alignment of the pieces with the predrilled holes. There were a few problems with some of the mattress support rods being a fraction of an inch too long, but we were able to move them around until they all fit. The ladder attachment was somewhat awkward and could have been better described in the directions. The biggest problem was with the little plastic squares from Hell. They worked…eventually…but who thought that was a good idea?! Even using a flat metal tool to apply pressure to assemble these little demons was excruciating to our fingers…especially my arthritic fingers. Thank goodness there were two of us! Needless to say, the second bed was assembled in half of the time as the first. After a very interesting assembly experience and about 2 weeks of use, I can say that I am very pleased with the sturdiness and stability of the beds and feel that they were a great value for the price. (I regained full motion of my fingers after a couple of days)

It's a good idea to use your knee as support behind where ...

I just finished putting our trundle bed frame together; it wasn't much trouble. But here are a couple of tips. (1) The plastic tab locks, in order to fit into the holes for them, must be inserted with the flush side down (that is, the side with the locking projections flush with the flat part that will be visible). (2) Consider using a rubber mallet (or light hammer), supplemented with a short piece of lath, to force the approximately 20% of recalcitrant tab locks into place. It's a good idea to use your knee as support behind where you are hammering. (3) Also be sure the support bar is fully seated into its hole in the side frame before trying to insert the tab lock; again a little rubber mallet action may be needed to seat it. Be a little careful with the mallet; it's possible to shear off a locking projection is you're too enthusiastic. Luckily there are spare tab locks (as well as a few other spare parts). Altogether an adequate and quite ingenious design, and a quite reasonable price.

A decent bed for the price.

It met my expectations. It was packaged pretty carelessly, and assembly was time consuming and frustrating at times. However, once assembled it served it's function and opened up some floor space. My daughter loved it. her only complaint was that the ladder rails were kind of uncomfortable to climb. I can come up with a fix for it though. It was a decent purchase.
