I really like the bunk beds with trundle, however, it is important to carefully choose the mattress for the trundle. I have the bed on carpet and purchased a very nice mattress weighing approximately 45 pounds. It is too heavy for the trundle. The side panel is in danger of being ripped off or broken. The mattress is 8 inches deep which isnt really too high even with a mattress pad and sheets. I believe it is just too heavy. I am loo for a mattress in the 20 pound range. I dont expect it will be as comfortable, but will have to sacrifice comfort in order to be able to use the trundle. I have had 2 trundle beds over the past 30 years and I believe the manufacturer could have constructed the trundle with more support and better wheels in order to allow it to roll in and out much easier with a better quality mattress.
I want to add to my previous review. I still like the bed. I believe it is made with good quality materials. However, I continue to say the trundle design is simply pathetic. As a previous owner of 2 other trundle beds.they were fabulous compared to this trundle. Even with the lighter mattress, this trundle is simply a nightmare to pull out and push back in. I find myself often just wanting to leave it out all day because it is just too much trouble to try to push it in. I am concerned, one day, the side panel will be ripped off. Because it takes a lot of pulling to pull the trundle out. Likewise, my back is ta a beating trying to get the bed pushed back in! Previous trundles that I owned were a breeze to pull in and out on carpet, because apparently they had casters, rollers or wheels that allowed them to glide in and out easily.
This bed takes a great deal of muscle power! If youre wanting to use it often, as I do, and not in tip top physical condition, look for another trundle.
Very satisfied with the bunk bed everything came in with no damage what so ever! Its worth its price. My brother helped put it together! He finished in 5 hours I believe. The instructions are pretty much clear so you wont have any trouble putting it together!
The only downside for me was that I bought the mattresses in advanced, so the twin bed I bought for the trundle fits but it cant go under the bunk bed but other than that everything else is great!
The bunk set requires assembly, but the instructions are easy to follow. My husband and I put it together. The entire assembly takes 6 / 8 hours. Everthing is solid pine, except a few panels on the inside of the shelves. We are very satisfied with the set.
This is cheaply made, comes in hundreds of pieces, no directions, the screw holes arent properly lined up, and the seller gives you a huge run around to try to return it.
It took an A Z guarantee to rule against them and get a refund. Do not deal with this manufacturer.
Beautifully finished, real wood construction. Easy to assemble due to coherent instructions. Hardware and each piece of lumber clearly marked to streamline assembly without confusion. If youre used to IKEA assembly, this was a delightful process by comparison. It took two people about 9 hours and some space to assemble. The drawers and trundle move perfectly! This is an excellent product.
Love this bed! Delivery was quick! Packaging was sturdy to help insure it wouldnt be damaged easily in shipping. It came completely disassembled (including the stairs). Which is what we needed to get it upstairs in our house. Took a little bit to put together but the instructions were easy to follow. Its a very sturdy bed. My older daughter has balance issues and is not fond of heights. She will have no problems with this top bunk though. The stairs are very solid and the railings are plenty tall enough. My three year old has no problems getting up and down from the top bunk. Its solid and I feel she is very safe while getting up and down it. Lots of drawer and cubby/shelf room as well. There were two boards missing toward the end of putting it together. We emailed the company and got almost an immediate response. They will be shipping the missing parts tomorrow. Very happy and satisfied with everything. Great customer service. Would recommend to anyone loo to purchase with them. Big thumbs up!
