Only thing bad about it, trundle doesnt push in flush under the full size bed.
Not a horrible purchase, but not my favorite either. Our twin size mattress doesnt quite fit, about 2 inches of open space at the head (or foot depending on where you put the mattress), and 1 inch on the side. The bolts are also exposed on the sides, so not the best looking. The paint is more of a stain, you can see the wood grains and knots very clearly. The bed also arrived without any hardware, but customer service was great and they offered to give us a credit to buy on our own or to send the hardware. We chose the latter, and it came in a couple days. (I searched Lowes and Home Depot, couldnt find all the right pieces. )
We bought the twin trundle bed for my daughter in the color espresso. She is almost 5 and has been using the bed for a little over a year now. My mother who is in her 50s even likes to sleep on the trundle for sleepovers when she comes from out of town to visit. The color is really nice and matches all of our other espresso finish furniture. The bed is composed of mainly high quality pine, which is very important to me when buying furniture. I want it to last.
The bed was pretty quick and easy to assemble for my partner and I, and all of the pieces were packaged well and undamaged. I would say it was a great purchase for the money (I paid under $400 when I snagged it on sale) and it seems quite sturdy. I only wish I had bought two, as my 2 year old is about to outgrow his crib/toddler bed!
Id recommend this bed to anyone looking for a nice piece of affordable furniture for their childs room. I mean we all want nice furniture, but who is willing to pay those Pottery Barn prices?
