Less than a day after my review posted, I was contacted by regarding the issue of the gas strut weakening. They immediately offered to send replacements (I already have tracking), as well as issuing some credit for the inconvenience. I am upgrading from 1 star to 4 stars for their wonderful customer service. We will be able to continue to use these for longer than I thought, since we were planning on having to buy some new ones once we returned from a brief summer vacation. These barstools started out fine for us. We bought them in late June of 2021. They looked great, and were fairly comfortable. I expected some low back support, but the back rest is so far back that it doesnt give any back support. That was fine, as we tend to lean forward onto our island counter top anyway.
The issues started happening about three months in. These chairs state they can hold up to 265 pounds, but the gas strut on my husbands chair started weakening. He is 215 pounds on a heavy day, and hed be sitting there and then his chair would slowly start to sink lower and lower. We are now 10 months in on using these and now his chair will randomly just jerk down. Im 150 pounds, and my chair is now starting to sink lower. I havent had it lose pressure and fall like my husbands has, yet, but if Im starting to lose height, than it wont be much longer until my chair starts giving out.
These stools are just what we were looking for to sit around our kitchen island. They were super easy to assemble, the materials appeared to be high quality, and they are comfortable. I also love that our Roomba can navigate around the bottoms, and the flat black paint is easy to keep clean (versus chrome).
In past experience with , we had easily returned items that arrived in error or somehow marred. I hadnt read details, so when 2 of 4 stools arrived with blemishes on multiple parts, we tried to return and realized this isnt how it works for all items. Instead, we messaged the company for replacement parts. They were prompt to reply, and the replacement parts arrived within a week. Unfortunately, half the replacement parts were just as badly marred as the originals. I am talking about scratches and scuffs on the base or gas lifts, so if this is something for a home with young children or a newly furnished basement, the chairs are comfortable and fine looking. I just didnt think I was shopping at a scratch and dent store.
Bases didnt hold up longer than three weeks with every day use
Started out great but soon went bad. Bought from friend who bought them 2 weeks prior didnt like them in her room. Trying to find out how to get 2 new bases as these are no longer holding up. Any info would be greatly appreciated as they are still only a couple weeks old.

The base/ pole has started to groan every time you turn in it and Im not a large person but my bum barely fits comfortably.
