I love having fresh ground coffee in the morning. The manual crank is not as loud as the electric ones and I enjoy having 2 bottles to store the grounds.
I was cautious of purchasing this because of some of the reviews. I bought it anyway because of the second jar. Glad I did! Used it this past week on a camping trip. Worked beautifully. In about ten or fifteen minutes, I had enough ground for about three days, which I then stored in the second jar.
Excellent grind, great coffee!! I would recommend this. (Keep the box for transporting. I folded a couple of paper towels to slide down between the jars to provide cusion between the jars, so as to avoid breaking on long bumpy ride to camp.)
I bought this a few years ago to have a backup in case my electric grinder broke or the power went out / like you I NEED my coffee in the morning, and probably like you I like to grind it fresh myself.
Well yesterday my electric grinder failed. I knew I had this one somewhere, and eventually dug it out of the back of a cabinet.
It went together easily and intuitively and I started grinding away.
I was pleased that it grinds pretty well, with a uniform fine grind that to be fair is probably finer and more uniform than my electric. I normally make 10 cups of coffee in the morning. In my electric grinder it takes 5 to 10 seconds. With this one I estimate it took approximately 100 times as long, and I probably made too little, as the coffee was a bit weak.
The flavor also seemed a bit off / more bitter than normal. Im guessing that is a result of the finer grind. If I ground a little courser that might help both the speed and the taste. But I ordered a new electric one thats supposed to be here today, so I probably wont mess with it until next time I need it. Definitely beats no coffee regardless.
A bigger ball on the handle would be an improvement so you dont have to work so hard to keep your fingers out of the way of the handle. The one it the picture seems to be a little bigger than mine, so maybe the manufacturer already made this change.
Fresh ground coffee in the morning is a great thing. If youre thinking about trying that, get yourself an electric one. If you want to manually grind every day you want something more efficient than this.
But in a pinch, this well/made little machine makes a serviceable backup for short term or low volume use.
Easy to assemble, adjust, and grind. Perfect for those on the go or places with no power! I just used it for the grounds in both my espresso and my French press in few minutes
This will absolutely grind your beans, and you can adjust the settings from a very fine powder to a fairly quick and chunky grind.
The closer you get to the fine setting, the harder it gets to use. Youll get a nice hand and grip workout if you want fine ground coffee, and it takes a while. I wouldnt want my grandmother to have to use it.
In retrospect, given that the prices are pretty similar, I would probably get an electric unit next time. But if you dig the manual feel of doing it yourself, this should fit the bill.
The two jars are a nice touchyou can swap the grinding mechanism between them as easily as unscrewing and re/screwing the lid of a jar.
I was looking for a manual grinder that had a larger capacity container for grinding for cold brew. I need more grounds for my cold brew setup, and was tired of repeatedly having to dump and refill with my old one. This works perfectly for my purposes.

Takes longer to grind than I expected.
Takes a long time to grind for a small pot of coffee. Plan ahead .
Very easy to use.

Effective but slow

nothing better than a cup of coffee made from freshly ground beans and this product is perfect for grinding my favorite beans
Works as advertised
Once you set your desired grinding of beans its good to go.
Assembly is simple, and I can adjust my grind easily!

It works, but its a bit of a work out, especially if you use the finest setting
