I put this together 95 by myself. My 9 year old son helped attach the bed part to the legs. I did not read the description thoroughly, so I was surprised there was no opening at the ladder. The child has to climb completely over the top to get in the bed. I am interested to see how long it holds up. Hopefully I will get at least 5 years out of it.
Like:
1. a bit shorter than the IKEA one so I can sit up in bed
2. I can pretend Im sleeping in a treehouse because Im 36 years old and I do what I want
3. Extra floor space, weee!
4. It matches my aesthetic
5. Not terrible to assemble by ones self
Dislike:
1. Climbing the ladder barefoot is like stepping on a thousand Legos
2. My cats cant get up there and are devastated, I had to carry them.
3. It kinda seems like some pieces that shouldve/couldve been symmetrical, actually arent. This is a different vibe than ikea assembly instructions for sure.
4. Im 110 pounds and it shakes slightly when I climb in/move. I tightened the screws and now Im lying here trying not to think about it.
5. If I have someone over, we have to sleep under the bed.
That said, Im in 350 square feet of space, the ikea model was too tall, my budget was 300, and I think this was a good call!
For the price this bed is good and it does free a lot of space for smaller rooms. My daughter enjoys it. We do have to tighten the screws about twice a month due to them coming loose
we like it, but its a real pain to assemble. We only made a mistake and had to disassemble 2 times, and based off other comments, I think that is a win. Some pieces were missing so we cant assemble the desk, but my kids love it.
There was a piece missing for the ladder on one side but I just put it against the wall. It was annoying but no big deal. This took FOREVER to put together but its very sturdy and serves its purposes. I put bed risers underneath so I could have more space so it makes it kinda rocky, but its fine. Put all the pieces together! I was gonna keep one of the safety rails off originally so I could get down easier, but it left it really unsturdy, so beware!
Great bed item. My 16yr old was able to assemble on his own in less than an hour. We use this bed with anothe full mattress underneath for our two teens in their room.
Assembled, it is quite sturdy. It took some extra time because a couple of the predrilled holes did not line up well to insert the bolts. But for looks, it is very good and should handle my two teenage grandsons on their visits.

I know it should be obvious, but use all the pieces
