These were cheaply priced, so I couldnt go into this purchase expecting magnificence. Yet, putting these babies together was pretty tedious, mainly refering to the 24 panels that need to be screwed into the bases. They also arent the sturdiest bunk beds. They wobble quite a bit when anyone, even a two/year/old, climbs to the top bunk.
Great solid bunk beds. Cant beat the price. Easy to put together. I just had to make a few little up grades like grip step strips on the ladder. And I made a Guard rail for the bottom bunk for my three/year/old. Minor things that we have to make on any bunkbed. Just an idea for those worried about safety
This bed took about an hour to put together and is just perfect for our needs. It is smaller than some bunks which is what we wanted (still a twin). It is very attractive. What a good price for this great be
This came in two boxes and took a good two hours to put together. The instructions, however, were fairly easy to follow. The wood is some kind of pressed particle board, but it is much sturdier than I expected for such an affordable price. The paint job was overall good, with the only parts that were left unpainted or poorly painted were areas that are covered up with assembly. (this looks intentional) Once assembled the beds were very solid, with no worries about movement or noise. The ladder is more impressive than others Ive seen on bunk beds, as they are think and flat instead of rounded. Crossbars under the mattress provide very solid support. The overall height is shorter than most bunk beds, which works perfect for our 4 and 5 year olds. We put a 6 mattress on top with a foam topper and this seems to leave a perfect amount of safety support from the rails. With an 8 mattress on the bottom there is enough for our 4 year old to sit up in bed, but barely. Overall this was a great buy for the money. Both our girls love it, and we have no concerns.
they werent the easiest to put together, but once there werethey look grea feel pretty heavy and sturdy. might put treads on the ladder steps as they are pretty slippery. good pric
The bed is beautiful and all the predrilled holes lined up well. The instructions were clear and simple. However, the wood itself is soft and easy to cosmetically damage. There are a lot of screws, as some people mentioned, but you can safely omit about 50 on the slats. Also, you will need to use a stick or something to chase out the holes as about half of them had wood in them that would halt assembly until removed.
Major Con: the bed is not very structurally sound. The first time I sat on the side of the bottom bunk, like you might do to put your shoes on, the main rail broke in two. I think there may have been an issue with the 1x4 plywood used as the main structural beam, but it just isnt the strongest piece of wood for the application. Also, the 1x1 support on the inside, that serves to strengthen the main rail while providing a shelf for the slats, is in 3 pieces. The whole thing would have been stronger if they had used a continuous piece instead. For me, I am going to install a metal angle bracket, about 1x1x5 right on top of the 1x1 support. This should keep it out of sight and roughly double the strength of the main rail. Kind of lame to have to reinforce a new bed so that it is safe to sit on. The break happened tonight, so I have yet to see how customer service is going to respond. If I get bad service, I will update the review. I am just asking them to send me a one new main rail and dont want to send the broken one back.
Great value. Looks nice. Solidly built. Assembly took a while, but wasnt very difficult but must follow directions very closely as the side frames all look alike, though you find out later that they are diffirerent based on their holes. Required two people to finish assembly and place bed on top of the other. Their is little head space on the bottom, but it works for my 4 year old girl. I dont think the bottom bunk would work past age 7, given its low height.
Bought To ACcomodate Sleepovers For My Grandchildren. Actually Was Easy To Put Together. Only Needed Help Lifting Upper Bed Onto Lower Bed. Very Sturdy, Not Too Tall For Room And Kids Love I
We recently set up the bunk bed set for our boys, and are very happy with it. It has solid construction and good quality materials. Everything fit well and the instructions were complete and well/written. We did come up 2 screws short, but they were only needed to secure the cross/slats into the rails, and the other slats will hold them fine.
We feel that the quality of this set exceeds the price point, and are extremely happy with our purchase.

Simplicity in the Word

Not structurally sound for large children or their parents

love my own bed
Perfect for my granddaughters. I only wish the ladder fit on either side. Or at least head or foot of bed.
