Ok, got it together. Here are my observations. Get the one marked pine. Its not sliced together bits and pieces. Its all solid pine. The frames that are broken all seem to be laminated wood. Basically dont get the cherry, or painted ones. Assembly was a breeze. I did notice that it looked like the two center legs were not touching the ground. I took a framing square to my floor and guess what? Like most houses my floor has a sag in it. Its not the beds fault. One thing I would do. Use some red lock tight on the bolts when assembling. And make sure to torque the bolts but do not over torque as you will pull the retaining nuts form the frame. This will also cause a bed to split as in some of the complaints. When assembling the bed only go hand tight with the bolts at first but do so quickly if you are using the lock tight. Allow the frame to relax a bit and jump around when putting the final torque on the bolts. Dont just work in a circle. This will help if you have an uneven floor. Im optimistic for now. We will see how long it last under my 145lb body and the weight of my 185lb Great Dane. I will post a follow up if needed.
This bed looks nice, but it did not go together well. The screws on some of the legs would not engage, no matter how many attempts were made. It was finally assembled, but without the washers. There are plenty of options for a platform bed; I would not choose this one. When I searched for the bed I specifically added made in USA. The box says made in China.
I felt too overwhelmed at the idea of repackaging this to return it. Sheer liness on my part, but I should not have accepted this defective product.
Platform is better than expected! One drawback for me was I never had a frame where the legs werent under the bed, so my toes have been jammed several times OUCH!! Im learning to watch out for the legs.
I was cautiously optimistic about the quality of this product, given the price. I will say the materials seem good and it was straightforward putting it together, however the 2 center legs I received were a few millimeters taller than the 4 outer legs. I didnt notice this until once put together, that 2 of of my outer legs are actually hovering above the floor. It is NOT my floors. Ive moved the frame around to check, only to ultimately measure the legs to confirm the issue. Ive shoved some styrofoam underneath for now, but structurally this really bothers me and you can see whatever I shove under there, which aesthetically drives me nuts. Id say this product is a little bit of a gamble.
This was so incredibly easy to put together! I didnt have to use any tools. They provided everything you need. I am not a handy girl, but I put this together by myself in just under an hour!
Over 1 month of sleeping on this bed. I did tighten the bolts after the transition to a new mattress. There were some loose ones. Could possibly be that they werent tightened all the way during initial build. Overall this frame is great for bed in boxes.
We initially had a box spring and mattress on it. There was some squeaking when repositioning in the bed with the box spring but now without the box spring it is quite. Definitely recommend. Paid $159 during a sale for the KING Espresso Frame. Its beautiful and sturdy. 5/5 recommend
