I am very pleased with this purchase. The chest has real glass and seems quite sturdy, and took about 30 minutes to assemble. I am using this in my kitchen/dinette area for cookbooks and am quite content with its quality and look. Needs better support
Looks like Pottery Barn! Yes, it has that great style. But the quality is something right outta Ikea. Not that great. But hey. What can you expect for this price bracket.
Im sure it will have a lifespan of 3/5 years and end up in the dump. But, for the price I guess I will just buy another.
Does anybody make high quality furniture anymore.
I honestly dont know what other people are expecting at this price/point. Sure, Id love to get solid wood super/sturdy furniture at this price point, but thats just not reality. Its sturdy enough if you assemble it properly; I wouldnt drop a car engine on the top of it but for linens or Blu/Rays (thats what were using it for) its plenty sturdy. Assembly was pretty simple, instructions werent that bad, wish the images were bigger but theres only a few steps, it really isnt hard to assemble at all, the only difficult part of it is putting the doors on (which is always annoying without a helper), I just used my lap to hold the door up but some books would probably have made it easier. I used a drill for most of it, except tightening the cam/bolts.
So I admit I was a little annoyed at first; I received a pretty much flawless looking piece, no scratches or dings, but one of the sides wasnt manufactured properly. They hadnt inserted the threading for the cambolts on one of the sides, so I couldnt screw in the cam/bolts, which made assembly impossible. Rather than try and return it and hope I get another perfect piece, I sent an email, and they got back to me immediately on the following Monday (I emailed on Saturday, they arent open during the weekends). Included some pictures, guy knew exactly what was missing, and sent some out. They arrived at the end of the week. Thats pretty darn good service. In fact the only reason Im leaving 4 is because the piece wasnt manufactured properly but I almost want to add the star back in because they remedied it about as good as a company can, Ive had several experiences where a manufacturer has to send parts and they take a month to arrive.
The piece is cute, the dimensions are listed so if its not the right size thats your fault for not measuring. Doors swing well, magnet catch works well, pretty much works as it should. The only other thing is I could see how the shelf pins could fall out eventually, if that were the case then Id just super glue them in, but so far they work just fine.
I was looking for this product to organize my hair products and cosmetics. The cabinet arrived well packed and undamaged. The assembly instructions were concise and easy to understand. It took me less than an hour to fully assemble the cabinet. Overall, the quality is very good. It looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture. I bought several small bins that fit on the shelves perfectly for a polished look. The price and quality are two big reasons Id recommend purchasing this if youre looking for a cabinet. very pleasantly surprised
I rarely write reviews but this cabinet blew me away. Ive been assembling prefab furniture since the early 80s, and hands down, this is the best packaged, designed, detailed and highest quality piece for the money Ive encountered (typed at my assembled desk/hutch kit). First the box was abused by the carrier dumped on a driveway and left in the rain, all parts were perfect inside including the glass doors. The hardware and connection details are excellent, parts fit well, directions are clear and correct. Im very pleased and feel like I got a heck of a deal. Shelves are notched to sit securely on shelf pegs which are very stable due to a shoulder between the cabinet side and shelf side. Package of spare parts are included. Assembly includes both wooden dowels and screws (into insert sleeves not raw press board) and cam locks. Pieces are at least a third thicker than normally seen, top is well reinforced, glass doors are safety glass. Easy to assemble just takes a while

Does the job. Is far from durable or lasting.
