    Reasonable price.

Finally received it and almost none of the parts are present. I only received the head boards, foot boards and the wood that supports the mattresses! Very disappointed!! The color is beautiful but the material doesnt feel sturdy. GUESS I WONT GET A CHANCE TO TEST IT OUT SINCE I DIDNT RECEIVE ALL THE PARTS!! UPDATE I received the 2nd box of the bunk bed parts the following day. For some reason they shipped them separately. Since I only received one tracking number I assumed it would all come together. It took me about 5 hours to put the bed together. I was working in limited space and dealing with a toddler. I could have finished it in 3. The directions were pretty simple. The parts werent labeled so that slowed down my assembly time. They dont give you extra parts (such as screws and bolts) so be careful not to lose any. Once I assembled the beds I laid in the bottom bunk. It was pretty sturdy so Im sure it can hold my 10 and 2 year old. not happy at all

    great beds!

I received the bunk beds yesterday, and I put them together in about 3 hours by myself. Wasnt too hard. My only complaints are that some of the wood isnt labeled and you have to figure it out on your own. If i could do it, I think everyone else could too. But that is something the manufacturer needs to correct. Also some of the wood was a little cracked but not too bad. And, promise this is the last bad thing, one of the pre/drilled holes for the nut wasnt drilled correctly and it wouldnt fit in at all. Had to do some fixing on my own for that. But they are up and sturdy. My 2 daughters are 4 and 7 and they love it! And thats all that matters. This product was a personal purchase for myself at the normal retail/list price. I am reviewing it solely because I want to share my experience with other potential customers. I have received no compensation for my review nor do I have any relationship with the seller or manufacturer of this product.

Arrived quickly , these are not very sturdy. They are perfect for lightweight children and are low in case of a fall , however would not recvinebd for a child older than 7. But other than that its nice

    serves its purpose.

They serve their purpose, but it does seem rocky/not as sturdy as I was expecting. The directions are all pictures with no words, and some parts seemed unclear. I did get it together without trouble though. Hope to improve in the future

    Great for the price

Updated Sept 2015: While I initially loved these bunk beds they have now completely fallen apart. The ladder is barely attached to the bed and we keep finding random screws on the floor. I now need to look into buying another set of beds for my kids. I paid less than 200 for these when I bought them and I see the price has gone up. Definitely not worth the current price. I would no longer recommend unless you need these in a guest room or at a vacation home where they will not be used everyday. You might be able to get a little longer use out of them that way. My kids love this bed. Weve only had it put together for a few nights but I am very happy with this purchase. Delivery was prompt and very convenient. I came home and the two large boxes were waiting at my door. The directions can be a bit confusing, but if you have put together any Ikea furniture you should be able to figure this out. Pay careful attention to the pictures in the instructions to make sure you have everything positioned correctly and be careful that you have the bottom rail with the holes for the ladder on the bottom bunk. We made this mistake and had to re/do that part. All of the pieces were included but dont lose any screws during assembly because there are absolutely no extras of anything included. Im using this bed with my twelve year old daughter (120 lbs.) on the top bunk and my two year old son on the bottom. My daughter is using a bunk bed mattress that we purchased from Walmart. I weight about 200 pounds and I have climbed the ladder and laid on the bed for a while and it feels pretty sturdy. I wouldnt put my weight on it every night for many nights in a row, but in a pinch it would hold an adult for an overnight visit. The weight limit listed on the bed is 165 lbs. On the bottom bunk we are using my daughters old twin mattress from the loft bed this replaced (standard twin mattress). The slats for the top bed are not the sturdiest things in the world and I currently have a 2 inch mattress board underneath the top mattress. Since it doesnt fit edge to edge I will probably buy a piece of plywood to put there instead for my own peace of mind. The clearance between the bottom and top bunk is not very much but I am able to sit on the edge with my head bowed to tuck in my son. Since I never plan to be sitting there for much longer than this that is fine by me, plus there is more than enough room for him. The total height of this set is lower than a typically bunk (which is exactly what we were looking for) and this works out great because my daughter can sit upright on the top bunk without hitting her head on the ceiling. The finish is also very nice, we ordered the cherry. While its not what you would expect for a cherry finish its not bad either. It just looks a little more espresso than cherry to me. You might want to keep that in mind if you are trying to match other furniture pieces. The beds are held together with holes that are in each post by a metal rod. When I plan to take the beds apart I will use one of the rails from the ladder to close off the opening where the ladder is on the top bed and continue to use it as a toddler bed. You could also just remove all of the rails from the top bed and it is identical to the bottom bed. You would be left with a few holes were the slats were screwed in but thats easily fixed with some putty. Overall we are extremely happy with this purchase and the ease of assembly and delivery. If you are looking for an affordable set of twin beds or a bunk bed, this is a great option. Giving this item four stars because I feel they could have done a better job with the support slats for the top bunk.I finished what I wanted to say

    Poor Quality

You get what you pay for applies to the Caribou bunk bed. The frame is ok but the mattress supports are poor. Made of used plywood of unknown origin (Vietnam China) the slats are roughly cut, full of large splinters, staples and old paint. I spent hours refinishing every slat to make sure our kids wouldnt get hurt. When assembled the slats bowed under the weight of a mattress with one child. I added a 1/2 plywood sheet to each bed for mattress support. Needs improvement in quality.

Nuts and Bolts Do Not Fit

Although the bed is solid once you finally put it together, putting it together is a disaster. Approximately four of the long bolt/nut combos stripped. I had to go to Home Depot and find replacements. The other option which I also did was use a washer even though this meant the bolt was not flush as designed. Additionally, none of the nuts on the small bolt/nut combo actually sunk far enough into the bed railing so you could screw the bolt in. I literally had to drill all the way through the side of eight holes to make this finally work. So basically the bed is now a hodgepodge of parts, holes, and fittings. This is completely ridiculous and ends up wasting countless hours trying to sort it all out. Just not worth it. Someone from should put together one of their own beds. Might highlight some glaring issues with what could be a 4/5 star bed for the price. should not have been priced as high as it was

Looks good but mattress slats are DANGEROUSLY weak.

Slats holding up the mattress are not strong enough and do not live up to their 200 pound claim. This one snapped with 140 pounds of pressure. If you want a bed your kids can fall through from the top bunk to the bed below with a single jump then this is the bed for you. Takes 2.5 hours to assemble, and the only compensation being offered for this is a refund for the return of the bed. Not good enough. I will make a damage claim for negligence and misrepresentation that will include 5 hours of labor. Very unhappy with this product.
