Things to beware when installing (its not that bad)

I can only blame myself but I am an engineer and cautious. I installed the fan to the minimum I could do and then tested it. This was a mistake. I did not install the blades and tried powering the device. Well evidently the blade weight /momentum appear to be critical in the operation of the fan. Without the blades the device stuttered and stopped. I got mad and returned the device. When the second behaved similarly, I knew it was my fault and double checked everything. Still no good until I went all in and installed the blades. OK- one more BIG thing that also was perplexing. I am guessing this fan has a brushless controller, which is generally a very good thing, but hard to get right (from the design engineers side). The fan takes 5-10 seconds to respond to the remote and can even start in the wrong direction briefly during startup. It can also jitter during startup. Not being the most patient guy I mistook this as faulty operation on the devices until the blades were installed (And I found a post indicating this was odd - but normal). If I would have just gone through the entire install instead of being cautious I think it would have taken an hour or less. Remote - remote is clunky but works. Controlling with your phone and Alexa makes the remote irrelevant and both seem to work well. But if you are not interested in using those alternate methods I would really be unhappy with this fan as you cannot control it from your normal light switches and pull chain. Only including this last bit as a warning to people who do not use Alexa (or equivalent) - think of older parents. Overall it seems to work pretty well with Alexa and would love to get many years out of it.

    Fantastic, sleek ceiling fan

Loving this F868L-WHF Sleek - Led 60 Ceiling Fan - The fan is sleek as the title says, quiet, and pushes a ton of air. The LED light is bright and fills the room. The build quality is very high, solid mechanism, easy to assemble and install - makes a great product at a reasonable price. The 3 blades are beautifully contoured, light brown and faded white colored, giving them a weathered look and the contoured blades have almost a two-toned look. The wireless control has six speed options, spin direction, and a light on/off button. And, best of all, you can control the speed and the light with Alexa (I had no trouble setting it up).

Great fan - missing one thing to be perfect

Love the fan. Reasonable install. Very quiet, nice build quality and a fair value - HOWEVER the light is only controlled by the remote - the sucks. I bought the WC 600 wall control and that too sucks as their all many small buttons. Everyone wants to just flip a regular wall switch for the fan and another for the light and use the remote to adjust as needed. No can do so be prepared. I wish they offered a different option for separate light wired switch. If they do or I find another I have 4 more fans to buy...

    Sleek is right....

If you havent installed a ceiling fan in a decade, this one will blow your mind at first. Its no longer as simple as neutral, hot, and ground. BUT, to Minkas credit, they do make it pretty straight forward and the instruction manual is well written. Red/Red, Yellow/Yellow, etc.... There are 3x covers that must go on the pole prior to installing the 1/2 moon ceiling adapter. I had to take the adapter off 2x as I didnt realize Id missed them. ALso, dont skip over the sheet that says IMPORTANT as it tells you how to get the fan running properly. If it doesnt run properly at first, you probably skipped the remote setup step. You will not hear this fan, super quiet! All fan/light controls are through the remote, so if youre the kind that really likes a wall switch, youll need to get over it. No balancing needed, spins like a top without any movement. Bottom line, we are happy with our purchase and wouldnt hesitate to get another.

    Closet organizing system

I like everything about the fan, the style, the wifi application, the light kit, everything with just one rather large exception which is the whole purpose of having a fan....the blades just dont move air very well. The blades are a thin plastic that gives a wood like appearance but because they are made so thin the air volume radius of the blades is very small. It would be very good for a bedroom but does not perform very well for a living or family room application. The look of the fan is very sleek and contemporary, the remote is functionally nice, the wifi app is a big plus that works great and the light kit gives acceptable illumination for a medium size room. The install kit comes with a 6 pole which is too short for most room applications but Home Depot sells a 12 extension for a very inexpensive price. Installation was very easy and I experienced no problem with the fans blade balance. The fan runs whisper quiet and the remote is very easy to operate. If only it could create a little more air volume without having it on the highest setting it would be the perfect fan. So you know, as a point of reference, my neighbor has a three blade fan from a different manufacturer with real wood blades that are a little thicker and the fan is wonderful, it makes the room so comfortable. Its the reason I considered getting a three blade fan for our family room. Unfortunately this fan rates high on looks and low on air volume performance.

    Overall great ceiling fan.

This fan moves a good amount of air while being very quiet. Its installed in the main living room and its great having six speed settings so you get the right speed for different occasions. The install was about average difficulty as long as you followed the directions.

Beautiful high quality fan thats worth the money.

Very nice easy-to-use remote control. Not so easy to install with all those wires. I like the dimmable LED light. Unbelievably quiet. Excellent fit finish. This is my 3rd fan. Worth the money.

    Worth the Money

I am thrilled with this fan. I spent months doing research and overthinking every little detail when choosing fans for my home; I am very satisfied with this purchase. The video is the fan operating at speed 2 (of 6). The fan provides sufficient airflow and is basically silent with the exception of a breezy sound at the highest speed. This paired easily with Alexa and my smart home system. The installation was a bit tedious, but no more so than any other brand with smart features and a DC motor. The fan is installed on 9 foot ceilings Photos make the blades appear a bit darker than they are. I highly recommend this product! I purchased a second one for my loft.
