Very thin on installation instructions. My installer had no problem with the assembly and set-up. Super quiet fan. Looking forward to using the reverse mode in the winter months. I am extremely pleased with this purchase.
This thing can deliver some air, and it is very quiet. The fan blades are beautiful. My only wish is that the lowest speed would be even slower than the fan is right now. We have an 8 and 1/2 ft ceiling, and I am 6 ft 5 in. I have installed the fan using the 5-in down rod extension. No issues there. This is definitely not a ceiling hugger type of fan. Also be aware that the light does not dim. It changes light color. That seems to be the case with a lot of products now. Overall, I would buy this fan again.
Product looks good and sturdy. Definitely much lighter. The assembly instructions are not very good.
Product comes with 3 length rods... you will only need one based on how high your ceiling is. Interesting feature I noticed on this fan, is the plate that comes with magnets. It actually attaches to the cover that covers ball and socket joint.
Ensure your switches are turned off/breaker turned off before you do installation.
Assembly Installation Instructions
1. Install fan blades first 2. Electrically connect light to fan, and then secure it with 3 screws ( you will remove existing screws from the triangel bracket, align the light segment and put those screws back) 3. Connect the hanging rod of your choice ( 2 screws and one pin) after snaking the wires through it 4. Slide cone cover to cover the fan + rod joint 5. Slide place with magnets (magnets pointing up) onto the rod, 6. Slide the cover that covers ball+socket joint) 7. Install ball at the end of the handing rod (one slide pin, and two screws) 8. Attached the socket bracket to the fan junction box on the ceiling. 9. Hang the fan onto the socket once its well secured (2 long screws). 10. make Electrical connections to the wireless module and the fan, and mains). Its all color coded. (Line and Neutral lines usually are white and Black, on this fan i believe is Brown and one other color)
Overall it took me about 45 minutes to do assembly and installation.
NOTE: the push connectors plastic male and female were not that easy to push in. You may have to cut the connectors off and use a wire tie instead. For all installation I recommend using Wago 221 connectors, you may need about 5 pieces of 2 circuit version, and 2 pieces of 3 circuit version. You can buy a kit from for $9.99
Like other reviewers said - it moves less air than your would expect from 60 fan. Its good, just dont expect it to move large living room worth of air. Its very light, installation is relatively easy, its quiet, just the sound of air, not the motor, even at max speed.
The cooling cone underneath the fan is narrower than some other fans. Good for bedroom/ small room or working space cooling, not quite good for wide living room.
Support was nice but the unit hasnt even been up for two years and after numerous emails from support and having to have someone come and troubleshoot they suggest we get a new receiver. Why not send the receiver free, because it is out of the year warranty. Id expect better customer service from Minka.
I originally bought the Sleek model for the Wi-Fi remote capability but returned it because the blades were plastic, not wood as is listed in all the product comparisons.
The true wooden blades are on the SkyHawk model and look beautiful. It comes with both wall control and remote and theyre both high quality and keepers.

Well made, quiet and easy to install.
Energy efficient, six speed, quiet, easy install and good looking to boot.
