Only complaint if any is that assembly takes a little bit of thinking. I accidentally had a part or two facing the wrong direction and had to unscrew a piece or two to correct it. The manufacturer could have made the instructions a bit more obvious and clear to avoid this. For example, clearly marked stickers or points that let you know if parts are facing the right direction.
However this small problem in no way changes how great this bunk bed is. I'm 6'0 225 lbs and have had no problems on the top or bottom beds. For the moment, to save money, I put air mattresses on top & bottom with covers underneath to avoid the rubber and metal rubbing noise. Not to mention the Price! Other vendors have this bed priced at $325 and above. Got it here on for a little over $100 less. I love .com! Will continue to shop as long as they provide great quality service! =)
Only issue I came across was the black cap on one of the poles. It fell off, and I can’t put it back in place. The bed is very sturdy. My 6 year old is testing it out as I write the review. She loves her bed.
Only issue is I had to put it together. I'm getting lazy and I don't like to build furniture.
That being said, it really was easier than anything I have built from the "scandanvian" furniture store.
It doesn't squeak, the included futon mattress is actually really nice, and it's a great price.
Just a heads up, it arrives in two separate packages (or even deliveries as in my case). I was worried the mattress was left out since it wasn't in the box, but it arrived the next day.
Amazing price when we purchased.
Only problem we had was with putting together. The instructions had bolts list by letters and packaging had listed by numbers. It was however simple to figure out. By looking at the picture/number of pieces in the front of the instructions. So far seems like a great buy. So far no complaints about the bed. ***I'll be back in a month or so with an update.
Only took my husband about 2 hours to put together very sturdy our five year old son loves it.. futon mattress was sold separately but found a very comfortable memory foam 8-inch one that fits perfect on there would definitely recommend
Our teenage son loves his new full-size loft bed! It went together very easily! It feels sturdy enough for two small or medium adults. I read the reviews about the ladder being a comfort issue when climbing and opted to buy a separate ladder with proper flat rungs.
I bought this one from , and it works perfectly: “Stromberg Carlson LA-466B Bunk Ladder-66, Black”
It sits about 1ft from the base of the bed at the bottom and latches on to the second-highest side rail. If you use this ladder, make sure to use some bicycle handlebar tape or tennis racket tape to protect the point where the ladder latches on to the bedside rail to prevent noise and metal-on-metal scraping!
“This bed is awesome, I love it” -my teenage son
Overall a good bed for the price! You need two people to put it together, but it’s fairly simple.
The wobbliness is somewhat off-putting (it came with brackets to secure it to the wall but no instructions of how to exactly secure it..?) but I put a large desk underneath to keep it a little more sturdy. I’m 150lbs and it doesn’t squeak or make noise when I’m clambering up and down.
Honestly besides the wiggling, the only other downside is the ladder, which hurts like heck, but I lined them with pipe insulation and now they’re fine.
Overall, this loft bed is exactly what it claims to be. Is it hard to put together? Well, it is a loft bed, it isnt going to be "easy". It requires some effort and teamwork to get it up and standing, but overall, simple instructions and "easy" to assemble- 5 stars.
Sturdy? Yes. I actually crawl up there still with my 9 year old so we can read for 20 minutes before bed. It does wobble some but I do not feel like it is going to tip over or give out under our combined weight of 225#. There are so many support bars underneath that really keep the mattress comfy to lay on.
Value? Worth the money in my book. Space safer. Magic maker according to my kiddo.
What I would say to consider before you buy:
-side ladder is moderately difficult for young children to climb up. 9 year old does great. 6 year old struggles a bit.
-opening at top of ladder is narrow so if anyone has wide hips, you're gunna have to wiggle some.
-metal rungs are a bit painful on small feet
I would buy it again in a heartbeat for my 9 year old. I would not buy it for a 6yo or younger.
Prompt delivery also
Packaged well, pretty easy to put together, very sturdy. My son hung his hammock underneath and we've not had one problem. He did complain that the ladder isn't comfortable to climb, so I told him to wear slippers. You do need a fairly good amount of space to assemble it. I did part in the living room and then moved them in and assembled.
