The modular sleeper sofa sounded like what I was looking for: microfiber and not looking like a sofa bed. I bought mine through because did not have ocean color in stock. My friend ordered bordeaux also from . Both arrived on 9 Feb 2022. Her box was badly damaged and ripped in places but her sofa survived except for a deep indent in one spot. My box was perfect but not my sofa. See photos attached. There were two nicks in the seat; the legs were scratched and the back did not align and therefore could not be assembled. I called Customer Service immediately, as per s instructions. The person sent me an email and asked for photos, which I emailed immediately. I received a response to say that will replace the defective and damaged sofa. I finally got a replacement on 17 March: two men delivered and assembled the sofa for me. However, the back cushions were badly wrinkled. I tried steaming it as per advice but it did not work. I filled polyfill but it made no difference. I called again and got my replacement back cushions on 24 April 2022. Yes, it was a real ORDEAL in my getting this sofa. I read some reviews of poor customer service from . This was not my experience: customer service was excellent; the person I dealt with was very responsive. However, I do agree with some of the comments in various reviews: the product is manufactured in China. For the price (I think it could be $400 lower), the quality should be impeccable; must exercise greater quality control. The wrench provided is not good: it gets in the way of screwing in the legs. While one person can convert it into a bed, you need two people to assemble it. I love the design of this sofa. The quality is very good.
It really is a quality item! The video on the description was spot on. So simple. Delivery was as well. It is a comfy couch in my opinion.
I read every review and concluded I agree about the firmness and size as a bed. It is very firm and some people will like that. However, we have all different people that come to visit, so we also ordered a thick pillow top with bell coolant for those who need it softer! Love it! No regrets.
When the delivery people arrived to drop off the couch, I asked if they wouldnt mind helping me carry this beast up my stairs (which are very narrow and turn a sharp corner halfway up). They kindly agreed to take a look to see if it was possible. It definitely wasnt, and they suggested I open the box outside and take the pieces up one by one. After they left, I found myself only able to carry up some of the pieces myself and got some other help from friends. Just be sure to have another person there to help you with the transport and assembly process.
After setting up this couch and sending a picture to my mom, she commented on how this ugly therapy couch is totally my style. And Im completely okay with that. The color (Moss) is everything I was hoping it to be. Not too yellow, and also not too green. I truly do love the color. The material is strong, and yet soft. It did not tear easily while hauling it up a flight of stairs with a narrow corner hallway, which is really something.
When hauling it up the stairway, we had to remove an arm of the couch (it came pre-assembled with the arms attached) but that was easily done and it was easy to put back together. However, one of the wheels that are needed to pull out the base of the futon popped out during the haul. It was a bit of a struggle to figure out a way to put it back into the sliding mechanism, but it was possible. Other than these two things, the couch has been sturdy with no signs of wear or tear.
With that said, I have only had this couch for two days. Both days I have slept on it, and its been comfortable. Do not expect a plushy couch, this one is definitely on the firmer side. My mother thinks its too firm, but I think its comfortable so its really just about your preference. Theres plenty of space for one person, even without pulling out the base. Fitting two people with the futon pulled out is possible, but it may be more comfortable with average-sized persons. In its normal position, the couch has plenty of room for me to sit cross-legged (which is awesome since most couches dont typically afford that for my wide thighs, hips, etc. without my feet slipping off the edge). The back cushions and side pillows are also very comfortable.
When I asked my mother how much she thought I spent on the couch, her guess of $400 had me feeling quite embarrassed. I personally do not think the couch is worth so little, but I am not sure that it is worth the $1600 I spent. With that said as well, I have no regrets (yet). It looks amazing in my living room, its comfortable for me, and I will keep an eye on how the cushions hold up over the next few months.
Delivery time was exact. So easy to assemble. Solid and sturdy and well made. Someone mentioned it is unbalanced. There are legs zippered into the bottom of the sofa to stabilize when the bed is pulled out. It might be 2 inches smaller than a full but its plenty roomy for two average sized people (my husband (510) and I (53) fit with room).
Love this so much I might buy another.
I was a bit skeptical about spending over 1k on a couch I did not get to see or test in person before purchase. Assembly was straightforward; delivery was on time. The sofa feels of very good quality and its sturdy. Happy with my purchase!
