You get what you pay for. Meaning, you will have to work to put this together, but after it is all said and done, it looks great. You can secure the slats if you want. I didn't and I haven't had any issues with it. Not recommended to stuff the drawers as they are fragile, but it does the job if you keep it light. I love the fame and the extra storage.
You have to understand it's assembly required furniture when you purchase it, but it's reasonable quality and a good value for the price - and excellent storage. The drawers fit together nicely and open easily - took about 90-110 minutes to assemble (use a power screwdriver, please). It holds a heavy mattress with no problem at all and the king size fit perfectly. It was worth the money compared to finding additional storage when you're looking for space in a smaller apartment/home. Just remember - it's not fancy and it's not solid wood but it's practical, it works, and it's reasonable quality for the price! It was shipped on time, arrived all in one piece, good directions and it WORKS!
