We had a lovely brass bed that rattled and squeaked with the slightest movement. It was constantly waking me up. So, my number one priority was sturdy and silent. This bed delivers. It is very easy to set up. Although it is very heavy, I was able to put it together by myself. We've had it a few months now and no complaints.
Ordered this for use with a Turf and Needle mattress and it is fantastic. Super sturdy and easy to assemble.
Chose this model, compared to others for two major reasons. First, the wooden slates are closer and more frequent than metal versions so there is no need for a sheet of plywood under the mattress to keep it from oozing out. Second, other models are wider than the mattress dimensions to trap the mattress and not allow it to slide off the frame. This is not appealing to me because I know I will hit my shins on the frame if it sticks out further than the mattress plus the mattress has had no sliding on the frame. If it did, I would put a carpet mat under it to prevent any further movement.
We replaced our traditional box springs with this bed frame and what a difference it has made! Our king sized mattress is made of a heavy latex combination material and is very heavy (about 200 lbs) and this frame provides great support. No creaking despite having the heavy mattress. Very pleased with this purchase!
So the metal on this platform bed feels good and makes me feel like it will definitely hold up! Instructions were easy to set up and I did it completely on my own. The only downfall so far I have found is the fact that the slots in the hand feel cheap. So far after a month they are still holding up and that with about 500 lbs total on the king frame between my girlfriend, my pup and myself. They sag a little when laying on the bed but nothing scary. I think they will hold up but can't I guarantee it. Overall I would honestly recommend, I would say if you have the extra money upgrade the slats, but for the price it is a good value in my opinion.. take that as you will
The bed frame was easy to put together. Had all parts with a few extra.It is strong and is such an improvement from what we had. I see this lasting a long time. We added a head board and it attachs easily and is stable. Just make sure you put the part with the slots at the end you want to add headboard. Only thing I wish it didn't have to have the middle leg on sides as I've already run into it several times but, with the bumper sleeve on it, it didn't hurt. It is necessary for the integrity of the bed which is great. I guess in time I'll learn to avoid it. Other then that highly-rated and recommended!
