First, Ill say that it was pretty easy to put together and practically doubled the size of my room.
It is advertised as safe for 250lb but Ill say that I feel safe as a 155lb guy. Not sure how I would feel about having 250lbs on there But its been fine for me so far, and after I got used to the height, I sleep well.
Also, the ladder to get up into and out of the bed, I dont like it. Ended up bringing a standalone ladder in from the garage to put next to the bed.
All in all, Im satisfied considering it was only 200.
I bought this bed to host an exchange student but then decided to host two students. I bought a separate twin to put under and it works great. Its hard to get in the loft bed so, I cut up a pool noodle to put on the steps to make it a little more comfortable to climb.
I like the added space this provides in my room. I gave 3 stars on assembly cause if its just one person its not that easy. I highly recommend 2 ppl. It could be more sturdy but I blame my uneven floors. But Im a small woman so ita not to much of a problem. I dont feel itll break or anything. Also wait till all pieces are in before tightening cause if you tighten once you put them on. Itll be harder to connect the other pieces.
Its great. My granddaughter with her 3year old girl moved in a small apt and this goes over length wise of her moms queen bed. So child has her own sleeping place and she loves to read and play up there. Bought a 6 inch foam mattress for it.
This bed is awesome! I was able to put it together myself. When I arrived at ladder assembly I realized there was a piece missing. I sent them s message via the link on this page and the part came Fed Ex in just a couple days.
When this package arrived it was very heavyhowever the assembly was easy and only took about 4 hours total! Fits a perfect full/sized mattress and supports my 130 lb weight. Love the space it creates underneath, which is exactly what I was in need of. The only things that are concerning are how much it can shake, (double/checked to tighten all the screws,) and having to climb around the rail to get to the ladder, on and off of the mattress, which again causes most of the shaking.
Overall am very satisfied! Is there a recommended way to enhance sturdiness?
Wow this bed is aming. I completed the build by myself and it took me about 4 hours to put this together and throw my bed on (ladies its possible!). Lots of small pieces to screw in so I highly suggest a socket wrench with an Allen key adapter. Big pointers are: lay out ALL pieces before you complete each step, keep the bed flat and then finish it with the frame on its side, set the screws by hand first before tightening them, not all cut outs in the frame will be occupied by screws, and when placing bars 10,11,12 and 14 lay the frames on its side to prevent the bars from bending. My ceilings are about 8.5/9 feet. Im 58 and have room to sit up straight. Lots of room for a desk underneath. Works well in my studio.
The reviews are correct when they say the bed sways but it is very minimal. Invest in pipe insulators to wrap around the steps As they are unconformable. Buy a buddie shelf and youre all set.
This bed does not come with the mattress. However it does come in a box when you get it and its a lot of cardboard. It took me a little while to figure out how to set the bed up and it even comes with some brackets to nail it or bolted to the wall. Im 5 foot 11 215 pounds and I got a small ladder on the side where the bed ladders at and it doesnt move or anything when I climb up into the bed and its pretty comfortable it just takes a bit to get in and out of bed I bought a mattress at the local mattress store 415 plus the 10 recycling fee and Im pretty much set up. I bought this bed because I have acquired three little dogs over the course of the years and I just need my own space and it has worked out very well.
