I bought this bed back in May for my two boys ages 7 and 3. All the pieces came in good condition. It takes some time to assemble. I did the assembly on my own because I was too impatient to wait on their dad to make it home. We are on month 7 and the bed is holding up pretty well and is very sturdy despite how wild and rough the boys are. No pieces have broken off even with the boys swinging from it. I would definitely recommend this bed!
This took a long time to put together, but if you lay out all the pieces and do it in a systematic way it is never overwhelming. The instructions are very clear on almost every step. I only needed my husband to help twice (to hold up the roof and side panels while I screwed them in) so it was nice being able to do most of it on my own schedule without more than a ten minute time commitment from anyone else. My boys love the bed (age 2.5 and 5) and spent the whole first day playing in it. hopefully it will last for at least the next few years. The wood was all high quality but slightly warped in places/ once everything was all screwed in you couldnt tell. Seems pretty sturdy.
This frame took a very long time to assemble, but for good reason, its solid wood. We are totally satified with the frame itself. However, I will say that the velcro tape to hold up our curtains does not hold up, after the first week our curtains kept falling down. Easy fix, but irritating that we had to go to the store to fix it. Aside from that, no complaints.
Just assembled it last night with my wife and took us roughly around 4 hours to complete. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Product material looks and feels sturdy but time will tell how good it is with handling two very active boys (2 4 yrs old). Im expecting this to last us 2/3 years but in a few months I will be able to tell if it gets us that far.
Packaging: they use this really thin plywood type of material to protect all around between the box and the styrofoam that protects the parts but the front and back is only styrofoam so this can easily be damaged by courier. I think it would be worth paying a little extra for that same plywood material to be used to protect front and back which could poially save them from a lot of claims and/or returns.
Were not too cry about some of the damaged parts because they are either not visible once assembled, some are not that big, and others just kinda go with the rustic look of the bed. Additionally, we expected some damages to happen due to poor packaging considering all couriers are very careless (UPS, FEDEX, USPS, DHL, ect) and the amount of damages are minor all things considered including the cost of the bed.
