Love the look and design of this bed for starters! Its very sturdy and simple to put together. It took me an easy two hours because I was working from home, so going back and forth doing double duty work, so to speak. I still use a box spring mattress with this bed (box spring mattress is not needed for this bed), because I like the top mattress higher for person preference. This bed does squeak a little bit, and could be because of the box spring mattress, but I have never had a bed that didnt make a little bit of noise regardless.
Overall - simple, elegant, and bold styling, plus giving me more space in my bedroom because my old bed was ridiculously massive. Very happy with this purchase.
The headboard and footboard look nice, not cheap. Not difficult to assemble but does take a little time. Two of us, about 45 min. Seems very sturdy. Our son loved it!
The bed came very well packed. The end of the box was ripped open when it arrived, but still, everything seemed to be there and nothing damaged. I was able to put it together by myself. My knees arent the best so I used a small bench to sit on and just moved it around to the corners. I followed the instructions that came with it. Its definitely solid wood and really sturdy. I wish it had a headboard but I can easily build one for it. The mattress is a 14 in box mattress from and the rug I purchased from Home Depot (came in 3 days vs the 2 weeks shipping was going to take).

Keep the directions. I actually taped them to the back of the head board.
