Okay so the bed assembled great, except for the fact that the inside runner set screw hole opening was cracked right out of the box. I assembled it anyway and assumed y 7 yr old won't jump on the bed. I have no way to contact the seller to request a replacement part so this is my review.
We bought this from a different online retailer but we have the same exact product. My husband and I decided on this bed for our two year old son and so far we are very happy with it. It came packaged very nicely with each individual piece wrapped separately and the directions were very easy to follow as well! It looks great and it appears that it will work well for our son for several years to come!
I should note some of the negative reviews stating their issues with cracking/splitting. We didn't have any issues until we got to the point of screwing in the mattress support to the bed frame, where in a few places we did notice some cracks in the bed frame...which appear to only be superficial cracks to the outer layer laminate. I would recommend using only manual tools (especially at this point of installation) to avoid further damage...the cracks that we did see seemed to be a direct result of my husband using the power drill.
This all being said, I'm super happy with this purchase so far and have no safety concerns in letting my son use this bed. I will try to update again after a period of use.
UPDATE: This bed is still in great shape (even after a cross country move) and works great for our 3 year old son.
This is a nice looking bed and is rather long, so be ready with your space. It was frustrating to get it to go together with the twist bolts needed to secure the pieces. However, my husband put it up in 15 minutes, he's an engineer. My kid loves it. It is worth it and sturdy parts and hardware are labeled nice.
I bought this for my daughter who was getting too big for her crib. This bed is perfect for her. It's really low to the ground, easy for her to get in and out of. We love it.
Great size for my 3 year old granddaughter. It's perfect fit in her room which isn't very large. The lower headboard and baseboard gives her room a larger look. She loves it too!
We love this bed so much we bought two. It is very sturdy and you have the twin size but it's nice and low to the ground in case they fall out. Love it.
