At first, I wasnt sure about getting a metal frame bed for my 5 year old son but after comparing pricing on different bunk bed styles, I finally gave in and purchased the firehouse bunk bed with red slide. Arrived in a long heavy box and a separate small box for the curtains. Assembly took me some time but I finally put it together myself. Very easy to follow instructions and came out very sturdy. I decided to buy some red pool noodles from a dollar store, cut a slit in it and placed it over the front and side rails to cover the sharp corners to prevent accidents. The pool noodle fits nice and snug and helps hold the fabric covers in place. I purchased a twin mattress and red bed cover for top and bottom, but my son prefers sleeping on top. I ended up putting the firehouse curtain in the back instead of the front. I also like that the bed is low and not high. Overall, great price and great purchase!
I put this together, on my own (Im a 40 year old, overweight, weak as all get out woman lol) in about 2 hours. The instructions are so easy! It comes with every tool needed. The fabric pieces are well made, and so far, 2 months later, it has held up time and time again. The price, the craftsmanship, the ease of putting together, along with the overall look of the finished product all work together to rank this piece of furniture a 5 star purchase. I also love how easy it is for story time, I stand next to the bed and read and then show him the pictures (very similar to what is done in school). I feel like it has made our time together better. Add in the fact that this has a SLIDE and well, what kid wouldnt love it? I know mine does! Oh, and dont get me started about the abundant storage/play space below! I just love, love, love this bed!
Well it took about 4 hours to put it together and the curtain was shipped separately and came the next day but my 3 yr old son absolutely LOVES it. We installed a strip of LED lights underneath for fun. I wish I had one when I was his age!!
We liked that this was relatively easy to put together for 2 people, looks more expensive than it was. The instructions were clear. We advise having an Allen wrench on a power tool to make this much faster / dont use the tool in the kit unless you have no other option. Also, I would have left the box open on the porch for a day or 2 to off/gas the paint fumes before bringing it in the house. I did not let my daughter sleep on it the first night we assembled it because the smell was strong. She liked it so much that she really wanted to just sleep in the room with the window open to a 20 degree night.
This was a smash hit with my 6 yo after we set up her loft bed. The print is vibrant and so cute. Its been pretty sturdy so far too even with a lot of tugs and moving around by little kids. And the pockets on the top pieces come in handy to store all her bedtime buddies and storybooks.

The only thing I did not like were the things that snap on to hold the rails, they break easily so becareful. My 7 year old loves it. There was two of us putting it together. It was pretty easy. The bed is stable and seems like it is good quality so far. Hopefully it holds up.

Sturdy wood loft, need to air it out a day or two
