We looked and looked at loft beds before picking this one. For the price we are very happy - the quality is good and the bed seems sturdy. I write this more to help you think before you buy to be sure its a good fit for you as loft beds to pose some challenges.
1. Are you comfortable standing on a ladder while you change sheets/make the bed?
2. Consider buying a table accessory that attaches to the frame for your child to keep a bottle of water or books, etc
3. Be prepared to tag team with someone if you have to put your child to bed after theyve fallen asleep - someone up top in the bed and someone below to hand the child up.
4. Talk to your child about whether they will be comfortable sleeping up that high - not afraid.
The first two we thought of before we bought the bed and thought the advantage of more play space out weighed the inconvenience, but we didnt think about the last two things. I think we would have still gone with it, but just something to think about.
I thought it was really easy to set up given Ive never set up furniture. If you take the time to organize your pieces by letter and read the directions step by step you should not have any issues as they make it super clear for you. Having a third person to help hold pieces together is SUPER helpful. The hardest part is when you need to assemble the bars that hold the front and the ends together, if they arnt held well theyll keep falling off and you cant screw one at a time because once they are screwed in the other two bars wont be able to be put on, so you need to give each one a little leeway and they all need to be put on at the same time. I thought maybe laying it flat on the floor instead of holding everything up maybe would have made it easier. The material is the same stuff furniture is made out of so you cant force anything or itll split. I took the advice of another persons review and added more brackets to secure the bed to the wall and I definitely recommend that. Im 26 and I feel completely comfortable on the bed. So far Im happy with my purchase.
Just finished assembling this, took about 3 hours solo. Ive assembled a lot of flat-pack furniture in the past and this went together very smoothly. Instructions were clear and holes precisely drilled.
Slightly wobbly even with everything torqued down as much as I dared. Some components are quite soft wood but the most important elements (desk top and ladder rings) are made of quite heavy duty stuff.
Love the bed. A lot of reviews mentioned missing parts so I was worried, but everything was included in the box. Took a while to put together but instructions were simple. I put a dab of wood glue in some areas while assembling (but not all so the bed could still be partially disassembled when needed). My daughter LOVES her tower bed with a basement to play in.
I absolutely love this bed! The quality is great, looks amazing, and the assembly is straight forward and easy! My 11 year old daughter put her whole bed together by herself from reading the instructions, with me just stepping in to hold pieces here and there while she got the screws started on some steps. She is super excited about this bed and she has so much pride in the fact that she assembled it herself! I would definitely recommend this bed to anyone who needs a loft bed for a small room or just wants more functionality in the space they have available!
