This is a good looking cabinet, if you can get the doors to align (which we failed to do). It looks really flimsy and we definately attached it to the wall using the enclosed straps as it does look like it will tip over. Overall, I'm 50/50 on it and had I not spend hours putting it together I would have returned it (did not want to take it back apart). For those of you who decide to purchase there is a horrendous puffy sticker advertising the company on the upper part of the cabinet that appears not to be removable. I managed to get it removed without ruining the cabinet, just take it nice and slow!
I really like this pantry cabinet and it was fun to put together with clear directions. Now that it is together it has a horrible chemical smell inside the cabinets. I sprayed cleaner and washed inside, but I can't get it to go away! I would give it more stars, but that smell!!!
Update
I contacted customer service and they responded right away the same day. They said they have safety inspections and it is probably the paint and it should go away. They offered a partial refund if I still wanted to keep it. I like it too much to go through the hassle of returning so I will keep airing it out. It does seem to be fading.
The package is heavy, so be prepared with some back up help. Instructions and assembly is super easy. Quality and sturdy gets five stars. Esthetic gets five stars. Great price. Highly recommend.
This is a beautiful pantry and gives us so much more room to hide all of our food and snacks! I have two complaints however. 1) It came with a crack on the top right side. Thankfully that side is facing our wall so no one will ever see it. Still disappointing though. 2) the smell inside the pantry is awful. Its like a strong chemical smell. Not quite sure how else to describe it. So far Ive got some baking soda and some dryer sheets in it, hoping itll take away the smell. I was hoping the smell would just go away on its own after a day or two but its been up for about 3 days now and the smell is just as strong as when we opened it.
We are very impressed with this cabinet. All the holes lined up perfectly making it easier to put together. The quality is great for the price. For the most part, one person can put it together but it is easier with two, especially connecting the top to the bottom and attaching the doors.
Quality has apparently gone down since these were first available on . We ordered one and it arrived with manufacturing defects including chipped / peeling paint, miss aligned screw holes, and cracking particle board... The company refunded us some of our money and I repaired the cabinet. We liked the size and look enough to buy a second cabinet seeing as customer service was pretty good. Sadly this second one also arrived with similar blemishes and defects... Disappointed for the cost.
The cabinet itself deserves a 5 for quality and value. There are no written instructions, just drawings showing which widgets fit where. There is sufficient information in the drawings -- but just BARELY enough. It was a puzzle that I felt good at solving. It was worth it.
