too early to properly rate a

initial impression: appears to have eliminated metal of frame discomfort but too early to give any definitive rating for a check back with me in 3 months

NOT 4.5 thick, only 3.75 (maybe 4.0 if Im being generous). Otherwise average for the price.

The first thing I want you all to know is that, like so many imported items sold on , the description of this is exaggerated and inaccurate (I might say a lie or trick to entice you to buy it, but I wont guess at the motivations of maker/seller). This clearly is not 4.5 thick with a 3.0 thick layer of dense foam plus a 1.5 thick layer of soft foam as described. Its hard to measure precisely since it has soft, curved edges, but its only about 3.75 thick in total, I measuring it three times in three different places along its perimeter. If the maker/seller claimed it was 4.0 thick, I could let them get away with that, since it puffs ever/so/slightly higher away from the edges. Anyway, now that the obligatory bring truth to advertising portion of my review is completed, the rest of it is: I wanted the most comfortable replacement sofabed for the least expensive price. Greedy and unrealistic of me? Perhaps. This one seemed like a good bet, costing around 170 and with a high percentage of marvelous reviews. Ive not slept a night in but, but lying on it for a few minutes gives me the impression that this is give/or/take nearly as comfortable as the original that came with my sofabed / a genuinely 4.5 (almost 5.0) thick innerspring made in 1995. The sofa is from Ethan Allen and, back when it was made and Ethan Allen still crafted exceptionally good quality furniture, it was expensive. Not surprisingly, that original was far more comfortable than most any other sofabed Ive slept on, so to say that this cheap, thin memory foam (AKA polyurethane) is nearly as comfortable is a positive comment. I am 220 pounds and did not feel the metal bars of the bed frame beneath the when testing it. Im not sure it that will remain so should I spend the whole night in it. I did not experience any chemical smell, or any smell at all, upon unsealing the from its vacuum/sealed bag. I left the laid out atop another bed for 72 hours to let it expand as much as it might before measuring it, then placing it into the sofabed and testing it. The liner (that cloth sack thats represented as a luxury addition but which really is there to protect you from over/exposure to the cancer/causing chemical foam and the cancer/causing chemical fire retardant) appears good enough; I dont see any clearly bad manufacturing in its seams or construction. The return policy is silly with the kind of hoops to jump through that Orwellian companies think will dissuade you from returning their product while they pretend to earnestly care about your customer experience. How about instead of me having to vacuum/seal a and write a magical formula on the return package, the company simply advertises its product honestly and accurately so that only those who accidentally get a one/off defective product will want to return it. Bottom line: know what youre getting into. Youve not stumbled onto a thick, luxurious that is a steal for its price. Rather, youre getting merely a regular fair deal: an inexpensive product at a relatively inexpensive price (at least, when compared to other es, all which are overpriced for simple slabs of chemical foam).

Fit well and very very comfortable

This is exactly what I was looking for, was hoping it fit well and it did, closes up in couch with no problem. Love it, and my company who sleep on it loved it. Dont feel any bars or springs soft and firm enough. LOVE IT!

Way too difficult for me to try and return during covid/19 lockdown.

I want to be happy. I want to not have to find a second to layer with this one before inviting my parents to sleep on it. Ive slept on this twice myself to test it and find it to be insufficient to pad the wire folding frame of my lyboy sofa bed. maybe I can locate a thick folding mat of some sort in the correct size somewhere or Ill have to double my investment in space age foam by stacking 2 of these
