We received the a few days ago. Reading the reviews we had some concerns but this seemed to be the best rated in its class. After opening the from its vacuum packed plastic we let it expand. Within a few hours it expanded to 4.5 thick just as documented in the description. The has a nice cushiony outer covering that zips onto it and is washable. It also has a thin inner covering of the foam that is not removeable. Today we put it on our hide a bed loveseat. It lays flat and we cant feel the support bar. It is comfortable. With its thickness and being longer than our original , we were also concerned that we might have trouble folding it into the loveseat. It did take some effort to fold it up but no real problem. Because it was so thick compared to the old , it provides support for the cushions that go on top of it. They were flat instead of sagging for the first time. So happy we purchased this .
Need to make sure others understand that this specific holds in heat. I had a guest that woke up all sweaty and it was quite gross they were overheated and sweated all the way through the 4 inch . If you get hot while sleeping you may want to take that into consideration.
This product delivered The 4.5 perfectly fits my size queen sofa sleeper. Its even WAY better than the original of my (pretty expensive) sofa sleeper. In terms of comfort/ very very comfortable. Its the best replacement for a queen size sofa bed. If you get anything thicker than 4.5 in., it might be difficult to tuck it in the sofa. So, just a little note: the first time you tuck it away would be a bit of a challenge but very manageable.
I added a pillow top and then a foam underneath this for optimum comfort as I knew Id be sleeping on it every night for a few months after a move. Over all, I didnt have issues. It didnt smell like some of the of the other reviews said but I could just be lucky. Im a plus size person (over 200 lbs) and dont feel like it sinks too badly especially with the extra padding.
Unfortunately, I had to make use of this last night. It is light/years ahead of the old spring that it replaced. No creaking or groaning. It held up and kept me somewhat comfortable given the events that led up to me having to sleep on the couch last night. Hopefully, I wont be making nightly use of it. But I hope our future house guests will find it as comforting as I did on their next stay.
The memory foam is nice it was first advertised wrong. I though that I was getting one thing because of the picture and the wording underneath, it was not what I had expected. I was going to return it but my daughter said she would buy it from me, so I sold it to her at a cheaper price. I was not going to cheat her, because never would I have paid that price for it.
