I bought this in slate in late July for my new place and its so beautiful. My boyfriend doesnt think its comfy but he likes squishy/sink in them couches and I like a couch thats a bit more firm. Ive taken many a nap on this one and its great!
Its also surprisingly durable. Ive had two 6 month old Lab/Rottie puppies since September running amuck, jumping up on the couch to play fight with dirty paws and scratching at the bottom when toys get lost underneath. I also have a 4 yr old who isnt allowed to eat anything outside of popcorn or chips on the couch but you know, somehow shes MESSY anyway . I use a hand spray bottle of carpet cleaner for any legitimate messes and the couch looks practically brand new still. I thought for sure wed all destroy it and Im just so impressed with how its holding up!
I get so many compliments on this couch. Highly recommend!
Update: Ive had this piece for almost 9 months. With all of the roughhousing from my GIANT pups and now 4 year old it still looks like the day I bought it. This is honestly the best purchase Ive made in a long time and I still couldnt be happier! Lovely for the price
After carefully inspecting this couch, Im very happy to report it is 100 top grain leather ALL Around. It is NOT bonded leather nor does it use cheap synthetic leather on the sides and back. The finish is minimal, with no synthetic coating on the leather, which is what you want on real leather furniture. Note that spills WILL stain this real leather sofa, so I strongly recommend applying a water repelling leather conditioner to help with that.
The sofa looks fantastic and is very comfy (on the stiffer side, which is what you want with chesterfield sofas).
The photos I attached are before and after applying chamberlains leather milk no. 3 (conditioner and water repellent). The left side is untouched and right side has the conditioner applied so you can compare the contrast in appearance and color.
I also attached photos of the underside which shows the guts and elastic bands that form the suspension for the seats and back (as opposed to springs/wire mesh).
PLEASE NOTE: If youve never owned a real leather sofa before, or if you dont know much about leather, you MUST understand that real leather (such as this sofa) WILL easily scratch and have scuffs and wrinkles over time. No matter the quality of real leather, this will happen be because leather is animal skin. Thats just the way it is.
In fact, your sofa will likely have some scuffs straight from the factory as ours did. This is NORMAL. Just apply some goodeather conditioner and it will minimize the appearance of scuffs and make it harder (but not impossible) to scratch. If you want a leather sofa that always looks prestine, then youll have to buy one with a bunch of synthetic crap coating the leather, which defeats the purpose and lasts only a few years before it starts to peel and look horrible.
You also need to maintain leather by regularly applying leather conditioner. I use Chamberlains leather milk no. 3 but even basic automotive leather conditioner like Lexol will work fine and its inexpensive. Just dont over do it.

Youll need to move up to Hooker or Bradington Young to get more consistent texture in leather.

I purchased this for our formal living. Typically we only use this space when we have company over. Since this couch arrived, my family is always in this space. The couch is so comfortable. The quality and design is great too. Absolutely awesome product!!
The loveseat wasnt hard to put together. The fabric itself looks like linen, and the slate is a medium tone. The seat is a lot more relaxed than stated. I believe the green dot is directly in the middle of the Relaxed/ Upright scale. I would move it one more towards Relaxed as the seat inclines backwards and is not neutral.
Description says fabric is stain resistant and to clean with a dry cloth. This is not true. Ive had the sofa for 4 months now and there are stains on it. When looking back at the description it says Stain Resistant, but avoid moisture. So basically its not stain resistant, because there are no stains that didnt come from liquid spilling on it. If you purchase, spray Scotchgard or something similar on it before you put it to use. Make sure you test a small area first.
I also recently adopted a kitten. He has clawed at the furniture a little, and I cant really tell because of the fabric texture, so thats a plus. However, I trim his nails weekly, and hes not full grown yet, so not sure how it would hold up to an adult cat.
Overall its a mediocre piece that fits in a working class budget. However I still wouldnt recommend you try buying it
The sofa is aming. The leather is soft. The sofa is firm not stiff and so comfortable. The only problem I had was horrible shipping problems. 4 phone calls and a week later it finally arrived. Customer service wasnt great until I finally got a knowledgeable manager
Update: Almost 2 years later The couch is holding up and wearing well. Its taking on the wear and colors of those old antique chesterfield sofas I love but still maintains its shape. I couldnt be happier with this purchase. Really Happy!!
Really happy with these sofas, only assembly was screwing on the legs. They are a nice lounging sofa, great for curling up with a book. The fabric is nice and soft but a tight enough weave that it doesnt seem likely to catch. The color is close to dark wash jeans, a pretty true navy. The lower cushions stay put. Bought some generic live seat covers and they fit it good enough. For being out of the box its a great sofa, quality far surpasses the one I got from Wayfair. Shipping was a great experience too, I got to schedule when it came, I was alerted when they were on their way and it arrived right in the middle of the window we picked. This was definitely a good choice.
