First after screening the web for this type of loft bed, prices came in a range of 800 to 1200 for the same features (deskdrawers). This one from an esthetic stand point looks good on the picture and look as good when mounted. I went for this one as it was coming from with which I have good experience.
Delivery Experience:
The bed was delivered a first time but one of the package (it comes in 4) was damaged and I refused to receipt it. Note that the carrier used (ABF) was extremely courteous and willing to arrange in term of delivery date/time.
I was expecting just to have the replacement package delivered but delivered the full pallet (4 packages again). During the time of delivery I returned the 3 previous packages. Again ABF did coordinate with .
Then there was some confusion with on what was retuned or not, but like usual the customer service was amazing (here dealing with the heavy load department) and solved my problem with a very courteous manner and efficiency (a lot of companies should inspire themselves on this model!)
Assembling the bed:
A miracle! Usually the only good experience I have for assembling furniture is with Ikea. Their engineers are smart and instructions are well done as well as their design. All other experiences have usually turned to disaster and frustration. Not here; instructions are IKEA like and design of assembly very similar.
Only critic: instead of using some Wood peg they use plastics ones. Not a good idea. On the contrary of the IKEA wood type you need to put them well in at the first place or they dont slide well on their own; damaging the panels (we damaged 2 panels like that). Not a major damage but extremely annoying for a new piece of furniture.
It still took us 3-4 hours to put everything together but without any frustration.
Odor/ Varnish
BIG ISSUE. The bed is suppose to comply to the regulation on formaldehyde (I have serious doubt!!!)
We have aerated the bed for one week first prior to mounting it. Then after mounting both end-units we did let it for one additional week. And now we have finishing mounting the bed completely since 3 days and it still smells pretty bad!!!!
To put a kid to sleep in it I have some serious safety question to the manufacturer...
Final result:
The bed look really nice, but I wish that our daughter could use it! I refuse to put her in, until the odor clears.
10/17 Update (2 1/2 weeks after mounting the bed)- Odor still present, not as strong but definitely clearly noticeable. My daughter can still NOT use her bed or her bedroom for that matter.
10/23 update: Smell still present and room still under ventilation all the time. Im still not letting my girl sleep in the room. Did contact C/S for them to contact . The answer is that the smell will dissipate but cannot offer a timeline! Nor can they comment if formaldehyde is used in the building process. C/S did offer right away to replace the bed or refund. But dismounting everything does not seems realistic to me. At this point Im waiting.
3/10/2014 update: After 9 months as the odor was still present we dismounted the bed and store if in our garage. Last week we finally brought it back and the odor was finally gone!
4/7/2017- per request of a fellow customer Im posting a picture with the reverse mounting. Do not be surprised by the stairs, this is just a piece of furniture from ikea not mean to do that but my kids are on the light side. That the place where the ladder should be.
Bunk beds themselves are ok. Fairly sturdy. Railings come loose and metal hooks on slide are flimsy. Screws come out. I have two toddlers under 35lbs and had this bed less than a year and it is falling apart. Pieces had to be adjusted during assembly but was relatively easy to assemble. I personally dont think its worth the money.
This is an attractive looking bed and a good height for saving space in a small room and yet not being too tall/close to the ceiling. It’s great for young kids, my 6 year old loves it! There is space underneath behind the dressers where he has placed a caterpillow and arm pillow to lounge out on. I am pleased with the purchase, it was easy to assemble, we used a drill though so one of the legs on the dresser cracked, I think it would have even if we had just used the Allen wrench. But it isn’t noticeable and I will get a bracket to put on the crack to stop it from spreading.
We downsized to a smaller place so my girls share a small room. They are ages 3 and 4 and have really enjoyed their new bed for the past few months now. Its held up and saves space. For the price we paid back then (cheaper than other places), I recommend.
Received on a Friday and set-up on a Saturday. Very simple instructions; however, there is only one way the bunk bed can be set-up (desk on right with ladder and hutch on left). You can not switch them around. Very good quality and construction when considering the price. I would recommend.
I am so pleased with this purchase. We bought it locally instead of online, but I was so happy with this Camflexi Full High Loft Bed, that I had to leave a review.
I can not speak about installation because the hubby and father-in-law put it together, but I dont think it gave them too much trouble. They did add extra screws for more stability. They ran gaffers tape along the top of the slats to cover the screw heads so they did not catch on the mattress. We also added brackets to secure it to the wall. Before that, this thing swayed like a skyscraper in a windstorm. Now its very sturdy and I am comfortable crawling up there.
The only thing I do not like, is that the slats underneath are not finished wood. So when you crawl under it, you see the light wood color that really stands out against the dark brown wood. I covered it with something, but I pushed it back for the photo so you can see what I am talking about.
Now for everything I love about this bed. We are still getting the room set up, but right now my 8 year old and 10 year old are sleeping up there together. They stay up way too late talking and watching videos, but it is definitely sturdy enough for both of them.
We bought an appropriate sized memory foam mattress that worked great and the bed is comfy and cozy.
It is tall enough to have a nice space underneath, although my 10 year old does have to bend down to go in. We have 8 ceilings on that floor, and there is still room for me to sit up without bumping my head.
I also love that the ladder can be put on either side.
This is a bed that will last for a long time to come. I see a future gaming center underneath for a teen.
Now things to consider with this tall bed: You will need a bedside caddy to store water bottles and whatnot since a nightstand wont cut it. We had to buy an air vent diverter so the HVAC wont blow straight down on the kids. We also had to buy a lower profile light so they had more clearance when crawling up there.
Overall - VERY HAPPY!
We bought this for our kiddo because the bunk bed we had was too high and it wasn’t working for them. We saw this and the reviews and wanted to check it out. This bed took about two hours to put together but that was because of us having to multitask with kids. We have had this bed for over a month and our kiddo loves it. They’re not a fan of the slide but they can climb up and down the ladder with no problem. The underneath of the bed is a great space for the kids to relax and play. I would recommend this to anyone who has a child in a small room and wants to make the most of the space. It’s also not that high from the ground and the rail makes us feel a lot better about our kid sleeping up there.
I shopped around for a while before deciding to buy this loft bed for my son. I wanted to be sure it was the right choice because I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of a return if it wasn’t as described.
Bottom line, we could not be happier with this product. It arrived professionally packed and without any damage. It was a bit of a hassle to figure out how to open the boxes, which sounds ridiculous, but it’s true. If you carefully use a box cutter and open it from the skinny/narrow end that works best.
It did take a long time to assemble - probably 4-5 hours total - but the materials were nicely packed and labeled, and the instructions were easy to follow. They provide a hex wrench for the screws, but if you have a power drill I’d suggest that to speed up the process. (Note: the instructions say not to use power tools, but using a screwdriver and hex wrench to install 600 screws would take ages.)
The quality of the product is fantastic - sturdy and modern looking. I love the dark gray and think it could work well for a boy or girl.
There is plenty of room underneath the bed for storage, even with the bookshelf and dresser in place (which by the way are freestanding from the bed frame itself and can be positioned anyway you like). We were able to fit several large Tupperware containers underneath.
Despite the long assembly process, I would highly recommend. The final product is worth it.

Junior bunk beds
These are amazing
A bed frame that is practical and fun.

Missing curtains one of the main reasons for the purchase
I did not like that it was missing the curtains and having a hard time trying to get them. Everything was in the box except the curtains
100% worth the time and money!
