Biggest downside- the pieces aren’t labeled for assembly. I was able to figure out which was which by carefully comparing the pieces to the images but that did take time and some are quite similar. Additionally the bed has a piece that need to be reversed for the drawers to fit yet there is mention of that until you build the drawers. So we had to take the bed half apart to switch that. Also some of the pegs were loose so they would fall out as we were connecting them. Seems sturdy although I told the kids no jumping cause the wood seems like it could crack with too much force. Kids especially love the door access to under the bed. I brought two- one honey and one merlot. Took me and my 14yr old 2 hours from open the box to done (drawers took half hour) for one bed. I imagine the next one will be faster as I know which pieces go where but we’ll see. (Took 1 1/2 hours)
Would like the screw tops on the top of the shelf to not be visible and for there to be a side to cover under the bed opposite of the drawers.
One drawer piece was broken in box- customer service was very nice and quick. They immediately sent a replacement part.
In Transit the box must of split open and the Hardware screws are likely in a Delivery Truck Somewhere. I called up the company and painlessly PAINLESSLY they Confirmed my Address and Just sent me all the Hardware no Hassle. The bed is great was fairly easy to assemble and matches my other espresso furniture from different companies perfectly. Its all Hardwood. Sturdy. The only thin part is the bottom of the drawers ... probably 1/8- 1/4 thick ? but no problems whatsoever there ... have been holding all clothes fine with no issue. Also the Cat likes to slink into the Drawer via the other side of the bed ... Cat Approved.
We have a small home and needed beds for the grandkids. This trundle bed hits the mark. Sturdy enough for the twice a year visits and looks nice when not in use. The three useable drawers are great for storing books, toys, linens, etc. The trundle bed was easy to slide in and out, even on carpet. We followed other reviewers’ advice on buying a six inch foam mattress for the bottom and it’s a perfect fit even with bedding. Assembly went as expected with easy to follow instructions. As long as we adhere to the weight limit guidelines and no one gets too rambunctious, I think the bed will provide several years of use. Good purchase.
It was easy to assemble. i needed a second person (or could have used a chair, etc) for 2 minutes. The remainder i did myself. It is quite sturdy, the trundle and drawers glide easily. Overall great value and it looks great.
