This bed is cute and practical. The directions were a nightmare! Most things weren't labeled. The ones that were was hard to tell. I was shorted screws of one size and had too many of the other. We love the bed. If you're new at putting things together ask for help. I'm experienced with putting things together so I mustered thru it. My daughter loves it so it was worth it!
Its definitely a cheaply made bed. We didnt want to spend a fortune because its for a kid, and kids mess up things. So we opted for the wallet-friendly bed. It serves its purpose and its pretty sturdy. We had some issues assembling it as the holes didnt lined up well and when we tried to attached the finials (the little balls on the bed posts), we had a really hard time getting them to go into the posts. My husband had to bang them in and paint was chipping off the bed posts. There were also several blemishes on the bed. Nothing that was worth the hassle of boxing it back up and sending it back but we did our best to try and assemble the bed where theyd be the least visible. Our daughter was happy with it, so thats really the important thing. Overall its just ok.
Everything you need to make the frame is included in a neatly sealed package. The pieces are all wrapped and I found no scuffs on the wood poles. Im 52 and found it easy to put the whole thing together with the instructions provided and labels for most of the pieces. There are supports for the center of the bed frame so its is pretty secure and stable. No need for a box spring, but could fit one as well if you wanted. Im happy with this purchase and recommend it for everyone else.
Complaints: The bars were dirty... looks like it was from production rather than shipping so you'll need to clean them down. Some of them are stained with brown that I can't seem to remove which is rather unsightly when you have a white bed frame. There are some holes in the headboard bars for no reason that are visible when the bed is completely assembled. They serve no real purpose so it's a bit discouraging to see. The hardware is silver and stands out, though nothing can really be done with that. Canopy part isn't really secured so it makes moving the bed odd. Also, despite tightening everything, it still squeaks with some movement.
That said, it was relatively cheap and functions in the ways as described. It is just kind of a mess to have bare bones which is the current condition since we just moved across the country and have minimal furniture. Over time, these things will be easier to obscure or the bed will be tossed out. For now, it functions.
I was not able to complete building this because the 12 bars were missing. Since I ordered it in September, Im unable to reach out to get a replacement. Im disappointed.
I cant figure out how to edit my review so. The box was damaged and the hardware fell out during transportation, absolutely not the sellers fault. Customer service has been amazing and shipped me new hardware with a tracking number. The rest of the pieces look immaculate and Im looking forward to having my bedframe together!
