Looks nice but feels a tad unstable.

I got this to replace a table I had purchased at pottery barn at much higher price point. Comparing the two tables is not fair based on the difference in price but it is fair to say that the table feels considerably cheaper and is much more wobbly. However it looks good and is functionable which is what counts. I would not want to sit on it but stacking books or remotes there will be no problem and I like the hidden compartment

Solid, easy to assemble and with good hidden compartments

For a mail order assemble yourself table, this one is very solid. They provide very easy to follow instructions, clearly labeled hardware and very few pieces to assemble. The hinges for the lifting top are solid, and it has some nice accents to it. The packaging is loaded with particle styrofoam, so putting this thing together in your house is a mess. Great piece if you are looking for a fair priced coffee table with some larger than you would expect hidden compartments.

    The finish ruined this table.

Really hated unpacking this item, It was wrapped in three different boxes. and tons of that horrible foam that leaves white bits all over your house. wish it came in different packaging, it was extremely difficult just to get out the pieces to lay them out for assembly. Now the actual assembly, when all the pieces are out its simple, not many pieces to put together, but you would be very thankful to have a second person to help with the product. The instructions are really simple, large pictures, and straight forward. Super easy on the eyes, and just easy to grasp overall. Pieces are large and easy installation, you only need a Phillips screwdriver to put the parts together. All in all the coffee table is really simple to put together, preferably with a second hand, but it can be done by one person. Now the quality, its not good, the whole table is made of particle board. Low pressed particle board, it flakes and has already split in multiple places. Some of the screws are also threaded completely wrong, so you might have to go through and glue them in, like we did. The actual finish, though pretty, it the reason for the low score, it is already flaking, its not even a week old! Definitely not a good product, I dont recommend.

A mess to unpack, super heavy, kind of klunky to assemble, works well.

Well this was a hot mess. Opening this box reveals another box. In THAT box is the table. Its a big box, too, and super heavy. I opened the first box and removed all the white polystyrene stuff. That was a disaster / white snow everywhere. I hate that. Its impossible to clean it all. Then, the inner box contains way MORE of that stuff, and its a super cry mess. The stuff is all over the table pieces / I had to vacuum all the pieces, the boxes, my floors, all before getting this to my room to assemble. Putting it together isnt too difficult but its not clean. A few of my bits didnt quite catch the bolts you screw in / and it all ended up slightly warped. Only I can tell, really, but its annoying. Once you clean up the enormous mess you make putting this together, then you can enjoy it. The material is cheap heavy pressboard. But the faux wood cover stuff is holding up ok. The table top works nice and is smooth / you dont assemble that / that part comes fully assembled. But it works great / you can raise and lower it easily. Now I can directly scoop my mac n cheese into my gaping maw while sitting on the couch with the remote and a beer! Yay Merica

    AMING!!

We love this coffee table!! It was so easy to put together, and only took about 30 minutes with one person. Once together, it looks great! It is nice and sturdy. Even with weight on the top, it opens easily for the storage under. You do not have to worry about taking everything off to open it. Absolutely love it! Exactly what we needed.

great coffee table. Better quality than I expected.

This table came as advertised. It looks great in my living room. Assembly was easy and took my son less than 20 minutes to put together. The attention to detail from this product surprised me. When buying most furniture that is mass produced, often times the manufacturing is low quality. This was not the case here. All the parts were present and all the wood is covered in the same color. The only issue I have is that the top is a little hard to open. In order to open it, I have to stand directly over the top and lift at both ends. This could be because the hinges are new and a little stiff. Time will tell. In any case it is a minor issue. I would certainly recommend this product. I might get me a second one for the man cave.

    Crooked Top.

This is a decent coffee table, but the top was screwed on crooked, and that irritates me. At first I was thrilled with just how much of this table comes pre/assembled. Upon taking it out of the box, the only things that need to be screwed on were the sides, the center divider and the bottom piece. The entire top part of the table and its hinges are already put together. Unfortunately the lift table top part was put on crooked on my table. It doesnt affect the functionality of the table. The top still lifts up (though it is VERY stiff), however when its up, its very obvious that the top is crooked. Other than that, and the fact that the laminate is very chintzy, its a decent table for the price.

For the price, this is an attractive table

I love having the ability to use my coffee table to do work. It was easy to assemble and it had everything we needed included except for a screwdriver. My husband had it together in a short amount of time. It is a pressed board manufactured wood, and not real wood, but it looks like real wood. I dont know how it will hold up, the price is fair! It comes with a marker for covering scuffs and scratches as they come. I like the storage space under the lid and the space for baskets underneath. The one thing my husband hated was that it was so tightly packaged in styrofoam sheets for shipping. He said it was very hard to get into the box to get out the pieces. And this left little white scraps of styrofoam all over the place. They are so hard to clean up because of static! He says, It would be easier to break into our house than get in this box. Be aware that it is packaged well, but that could also be annoying.

Attractive functional, easy to assemble, wafer thin laminate

This lift top coffee table is well packaged in a box within a box. The instructions are easy to follow this goes together pretty easily. All you need is 2 screwdrivers, a Phillips head and a short flat head. You can use a longer flat head but need the stubby one when tightening the cams between the top bottom shelf. As the Styrofoam was getting all over the place I decided to assemble this outside. The main body of the coffee table is already assembled. Basically the assembly consists of attaching the bottom shelf, divider the sides. The shelves are made of loose spaced particle board. When assembling you only want to use hand tools as it is very easy to strip the holes when screwing in the posts, even by hand, only tighten until the posts are seated. The laminate surface is paper thin was already coming off on 1 corner. Fortunately this corner is hidden where it attached to the side, but this does reveal more of how durable this will be (not very in my opinion). The holes for the wooden dowels are drilled pretty deep so they are used more as guide pins when putting the parts together then anything structural. Some were a bit tight fitting as they should be where others were very loose. One post hole was loose enough for me to tighten all the way by hand spin in place. When tightening the cams around these posts to pull the parts together, you want to be careful listen for the wood breaking stop when you hear that (happened on a few of the cams). As this is not very dense particle board, that is to be expected. The majority of the assembly is done with the table upside down. You need to tighten the last 4 cams for the tops of the sides with the top of table open. Once assembled this does look good. The top movement up down is a little tight but that is a good thing. There is storage space with the top open for remotes, movies, small books or magines. There is additional space on the lower open shelf. The attached feet are a hard plastic. The stated weight limits for this coffee table are 55 lbs with the top up open, plenty to hold your meal or snacks while you and a friend are watching TV. When closed this is listed at 143 lbs. Plenty of you are going to use against the wall to hold your TV or with books decorations in front of your sofa but please dont sit on the table unless you are a small child. I am not sure how well this will hold up with teenage boys rumbustious dogs. A good bump or scrape will remove some of the super thin laminate the included touch up marker (wrong color for this table) wont be able to repair that.
