It is comfortable and easy to store and assemble. I purchased and assembled this queen with headboard unit. Pros: It is well designed for assembly and shipping. Pretty easy to put together, they provide tools. Having put together lots of furniture, I appreciated the simplicity and how well the parts went together. In general the design is pretty good except for a major flaw. Most frames have the slats below the level of the frame so that the mattress sits inside the frame so it cannot move around in the frame. The slats in this frame are even with the frame, so there is nothing to keep the mattress from moving off the frame. They did this to save a few pennies, otherwise they would need to make the width a few inches wider. All the frames are designed the same way, which is stupid. The second cost savings measure was the side rails are made of glued and laminated wood strips half inch wide. This means that the side rails are not strong enough to bear the weight of a queen mattress, so they have a metal rail running down the center to provide load bearing support. This may cause the mattress to feel uneven in the middle (more support). If you dont use the middle support, the frame may break. The other minor detail is that they do not provide wood plugs for the screw holes on the posts. I was impressed by the precision that the parts were made and how easy it was to assemble. Parts fit together very very easily. And yes, it is solid pine. (although glued and laminated to make it solid.) Just dont expect it to be furniture grade for the price. Some knot holes were filled in and sanded. Good quality for the present. Just doesnt hold a candle to my other 20 year old solid teak bedframe!
