We bought this for our house for when the grandkids visit so it will work for our needs. However, if I was buying for my kids house I would pass. I just dont think it would hold up to the everyday wear and tear.
1. It doesnt have the solid grid bed like others have. You have to put the slats in, then little plastic caps, then more plastic clamps down the center then odd c chains. I see these breaking and falling out all over. Plus they were a pain to put on.
2. The one main rail came in bent. I have contacted the company and they are sending a replacement but you dont get warm and fuzzy about having a bent part off the bat.
3. Its so much lighter than any bunk bed Ive ever dealt with. I have had 5 kids and 7 grandkids so I know my way around them.
For those on a tight budget or only using it like we are, it has its use. Just be ready to spend some time snapping in those plastic pieces. I hope this helps. not happy at all
