I was so excited to receive this umbrella, but apparently its too big for a typical, heavy, wrought iron umbrella base. The first day I screwed it into the base and opened it up, it blew over (base included) and bent one of the metal umbrella branches when it hit the ground. Now I either have to replace it or figure out how to jerry/rig the broken pole. Such a bummer! It was a beautiful day too, sunny without rain and only a 6.5 mph breeze (I confirmed the wind speed with Alexa right after it happened!). It really wasnt that windy, and my base is very heavy. So, because of this incident, I think this umbrella is better suited for being placed in the middle of a patio table along with a very heavy base. Hopefully the table would help stabilize it more. I would NOT use it again with just a heavy base or in a pool decking umbrella hole unless you can anchor it down better. Otherwise, it looks great, and I love the added feature of the LED lights.
