    REAL WOOD! And silent/well balanced

What an excellent fan. Did not recognize the brand but because it was moisture proof and looked like a classic aircraft 3 blade prop I went for it. Fan arrived really fast and the packaging was very well designed. They only thing that was iffy was the separation between the fan blades. One had a rum damage, but I fixed that with a bit of stain I had in the garage. Where do I start. Every piece is well designed and made. The fan blades are solid wood, not even veneer, which is rare. the top ball joint and hanger is made out of metal. The light globe is Glass, not plastic. The motor is dense and substantial, and it has very high quality sealed ball bearings on the top and bottom. Usually it is either a brass or plastic bushing, even in Hunter fans. Since it is my nature to eval everything, the only items that could use improvement is the wire nuts....they really make them that small??? and the screws to secure the remote, equally small and chincy. I ended up using my own wire nuts and screws. Also use a few cable ties to secure the wire. Installation was a bit more complex than some will do as I needed the down rod to be 36 (3 ft) so I had to extend the wires. The wires were 22ga, so given the length, I ran 16ga to make sure there wouldnt be any power loss. Both the light and fan are DC voltage, which is converted from AC by the remote control receiver, so the wiring wasnt as critical. Fortunately I had just gotten a new set of crimp connectors that were heat shrink, which made the job easy. I adapted a 3 piece of steel water pipe instead of buying a down rod since it was $10 and the down rod was going to be $50. Worked perfect. Once installed, I followed the matching procedure from the manual to mate the remote. By the way, the install manual was extremely descriptive and was not written by google translate. First impressions was that the fan was extremely well balanced. They must balance these blades at the factory. Since they are real wood, there were screwed directly to the motor instead of some metal blade adapters. Has really good air flow. Expected less since it was only 3 blade but that was not the case. Being able to adjust the speeds in 6 increments was such an improvement from the old 3. I absolutly could not stand the light when I first turned it on, since I do not like blue LED light. THEN I turned it off and back on again, only to realize it has 3 different color selections. Each time you turn it off and on again, it changed the color temp. The fan is perfectly silent, no hum, wobble, etc. Only the sound of rushing air. It also has a really odd setting that simulates a natural breeze by adjusting the speed automatically to be faster and slower kinda like the wind. That was nifty. I would have never considered buying this fan being an unknown brand, but I would have been missing out.My only issue is finding a flush mount one as this one cannot flush mount. I will probably replace most of my fans, except the port one that has to be flush, with these in the future.
