Whether you use it with a wall/mounted TV or you place a flat screen TV on it, it can hold up to 120 lbs. Either way, this console is a big win. Its laminated finish is the icing on the cake. And dont worry if you arent mechanically/inclined. Anyone can put it together. Took me almost no time.
