I was desperately in need of a new set of counter-height stools for my kitchen dining area, and when I saw these they seemed worth a try. Im glad I did... I liked these so much that I immediately bought another pair.
The chairs require assembly. The back and seat are preassembled, but the base is made up of three pieces. The legs are in two pieces that cross over each other at the seat and the foot rail is installed after. Other than the initial effort of holding the two leg pieces in the proper orientation to insert a screw into the chair base to hold them, the rest of the assembly was easy.
The chairs are stable. You can adjust the front feet to make up for an uneven flooring (or uneven legs.) Weve been using these for a few weeks and have now complaints. By the way, Im nearly 300 pounds, and my weight is supported by the chair with no complaint or problem.
Its impossible to speculate how well theyll hold up over time... I dont expect them to last forever, especially at this price point, but I suspect theyll hold up well for some time. Based upon my experiences so far, I would definitely order these again and have no problem recommending them to others.
