GREAT quality for the money. Best bang for your buck!

I bought these beds for my boys who are 6 and 10. They had a junior set before and my oldest was just too big for the old beds. The bed components were packaged very well to prevent damage. The quality of the wood is very impressive. I am especially impressed with the slats. They are really nice! The instructions were relatively easy to follow and all of the hardware was nicely labeled. The assembly took approximately three hours with two engineers working nonstop on the project. it would have taken about two hours if we had not experienced complaint 1 (see below). Overall I think these beds are GREAT. For the price I honestly dont think you could get a better set of beds. I have two complaints which is the reason for the 4 star rating. 1 / They shipped us two bottom footboards instead of one top and one bottom. This isnt a huge deal because the only major differences are the hole pattern in the two pieces and the height. The foot board height is not a problem and actually provides a little more protection on the top bunk. We opted to just drill holes ourself and hope that we did not mess anything up in doing so. This added about an hour to the assembly process. Our boys were so excited and we wanted to get the beds assembled since we had everything unpacked and laid out in their room. 2 / One of the headboards had a huge split in the wood that had been glued and stained. I am a Quality Assurance professional so it bothered me that they would let that kind of cosmetic defect go to a customer. It looks ugly but because of the location no one can see it once the mattress is installed. Again, we were very motivated to just work with what we had because of the mess associated with the assembly and the two boys anxiously waiting on the beds. It is ok for the use.
