I purchased this for my nine-year-old son. He shares a room and needed a hangout space and play area and this bunkbed allows just that. This is a very sturdy bed frame, more sturdy than others I have seen even from the same brand. Him and his older brother were up on the top bunk bed the other day and the bed did not make any unusual noise or wiggle, etc. I only wish the shelves were slightly different. The bottom shelf is quite low to the desk, I think the shelves wouldve been better if they were more evenly spaced to provide three medium size surfaces rather than having the shelf low to the desk. My son also prefers a ladder which is angled as it is easier to go up, but the ladder is sturdy enough.
Sturdy for the most parts.
