My wife and I ordered this platform a few months back and we were very surprised when we finally got it in. This was everything we were hoping for and so much more! It was real solid wood on the exterior rails. The finish was done perfectly between the stain and finish. This is extremely durable! As far as weight ratings go, This will easily take anything you can possibly throw at it. Assembly is absolutely brilliant as well. My wife and I had this thing fully assembled in about 3 minutes and that is remarkable for what it is. The only thing I will say on the down side of this is that, for us, the slats were just slightly too far apart for us. I was able to rectify that with a couple sheets of 1/2 sanded plywood though. Unfortunately we decided to go in a different direction with our bed and we werent able to keep this frame. I was able to contact by email and they replied within a few hours and were very helpful on returning this product.
Bottom line-- Real SOLID wood rails that are stained and finished. Extremely fast assembly, Very sturdy design. Excellent customer support.
