solid bed but that is not enough for me to give it anything other than a 2 star rating. Even that is maybe too many. First of all the two packages came 3 weeks apart. In would not have know that about the two separate packages except I read it in a review. These boxes were Heavy and I had to haul them over 200 miles to my cabin. We were replacing two sturdy bunk bed sets, but were wanting a queen size so that a couple could sleep together. The directions were not clear since there were no words, but the drawing did the trick. I put the bed together by myself but would strongly recommend 2 people. I should have paid attention to the other reviews.... It was very difficult to squeeze the queen size mattress onto the bottom so this bed was not designed for any USA queen sized mattress. Now that I have the mattress in place it will be a killer to put on the mattress pad and sheets and there is absolutely NO way to tuck in a blanket. Look at the demensions of a queen virsus a twin. The twin will fit because it is 5 inches shorter!
